Edge Hill SportEdge Hill Sport operate all the campus sports facilities and student sportprogrammes with a range of ways for you to get involved.

Sandwich Placements, Faculty of Arts and SciencesA sandwich placement is a year working in industry taken by students betweenthe second and third year of a degree. Sandwich placements typically last for48 weeks running from September to August of a given year. For students, theaim is to build, develop and apply their skills as acquired through their degreein order to improve their employability prospects once they graduate.

Study Abroad and Language OpportunitiesSpeak to a member of staff from the Study Abroad team about the excitingopportunities to study or work abroad as part of your degree. Information isalso available on our new Language Centre where you can develop yourlanguage skills whether English is your first language or not.

Learning ServicesLearning Services incorporates; Library Services, Media and ICT support,Inclusive Services and support for SpLD, Academic skills and LearningTechnology Development (incorporating Blackboard). Speak to our expert staffto find out about the direction, support and guidance the Learning Servicesteam can offer.

This session provides parents and guardians with key information regardingFees and Finance, Student Accommodation and supporting yourson/daughter through the UCAS process and their transition to University.

Course and Subject InformationBetween 12noon and 4pm you will have the opportunity to attend a subject taster session and/or speak to academic staff on a one to one basis.If you have applied to study a joint honours degree we recommend you visit both academic subject areas.

Subject taster sessions will last 1 hour.

Campus ToursGuided tour led by current students. All tour routes are fully accessible. Tours last 1 hour and the last tour will depart at 3pm.

There is a Meeting Point set up for each halls of residence shown on thecampus map. Look for the purple flag and Student Guides.

Information PointsEach building in use during theApplicant Visit Day will have anInformation Point, with friendlymembers of staff who can help withyour programme, direct you aroundcampus and help in the event ofan emergency.

Student GuidesStudent Guides are easily spotted intheir bright purple tabards and arehappy to help with anything tomake your Applicant Visit Day visitrun smoothly. Don’t forget to askthem about their Edge Hillexperience.

Lost PropertyIf you lose an item of yourbelongings or find some lostproperty please speak to a memberof staff at an Information Point whowill help you in the first instance.

ToiletsToilets (including accessiblefacilities) are available in eachbuilding on campus.Please ask any member of staff orStudent Guide for directions.

Baby Changing FacilitiesAvailable on the Ground Floor ofthe Business School and in the MainBuilding.

RefreshmentsThe Hub, Main Building

Housekeeping and Emergency Procedures

Fire AlarmsOn hearing the fire alarm leave thebuilding by the nearest availableexit and assemble as directed bystaff and Student Guides. Do notreturn to the building until advisedit is safe to do so.

Illness or InjuryIn case of illness or injury please goto the nearest Information Point orthe Registration area. Staff will beable to arrange first aid assistanceand will call for an ambulance ifrequired.

Please report any injuries to staff atInformation Points or in theRegistration area.
