Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Livelihoods :
Farmer Producer Organizations and range of act iv i t ies in the value chain are game changing organizations bringing prosperity and sustainability to not just farmers but the whole rural ecosystem. Government of India and various states are also focusing on organizing farmers to get benefits of scale in a professional way. FPOs are touted as the next big thing after co operative movements to bring in sea change in agriculture and rural landscape of India. We are major implementing partners in this institution building. FPOs are the best vehicle to run all kind of CSR projects in livelihood. ICT in Agriculture - Mobile based :
Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) has been effectively using ICT in its various agriculture extension programs. ISAP has developed mobile application to reach to large numbers of farmers with accurate, timely and appropriate information. ISAP has created an applet called e-KrishakSahyogi to help extension agents/farmers in diagnosing problems of disease or pest infestations in their fields. This applet is benefitting 9600 farmers in Rajasthan. In addition, more than 1000 farmers take benefit of ISAP advisory through Whatsapp messenger services. These farmers are sent animation videos on proven cropping technique through Whatsapp group on weekly basis. ISAP Facebook group witnesses several posts from farmers seeking solutions for their farm-specific problems, which are duly responded by subject experts/scientists from various agricultural institutes/KVKs etc. The application being created by ISAP not only provides information and advisory but also act as a data capture and business management tool for individual farmers and farmer organizations like FPOs. It covers all aspects of farming and business like input sourcing, output sales etc. Apart from the Mobile application, ISAP has large presence on Facebook with more than 1 lakh members. ISAP and Yuvagram has been doing skill and vocational trainings market driven sectors. Entrepreneurship Development CURFA ( Certified Urban and Rural Farm Advisor) : Professional, relevant and timely agricultural extension can bring in 50-100% improvement in farm productivity and income. ISAP pioneered Certified Crop Advisor program in India in association with ASA, USA, which developed into a fully fledged certification program for government and non-government professionals. ISAP has certified about 450 advisors across country. These advisors are rural youth who have technical degree like B.Sc. (Ag) or significant experience in farm extension. The certification is a rigorous training program involving all aspects of farm technology and communication. The program is divided in different modules and for certification candidate has to pass all modules. The most important aspect is that the certificate is valid for 3 years and during which candidate has to pass through renewal program again to ensure that these advisors are kept up to date on technological advancements. ISAP CURFAs are valued highly by agricultural input companies and others. Many of the CURFAs are employed by leading companies have been able to help farmer in a much better way, and they have also grown professionally. ISAP is in the process of building digital platform to be able to reach to larger audience and certify 10000 Farm advisors. ISAP is also targeting to increase proportion of women in the CURFA from current 10% to 30%, effectively bringing in 3000 women CURFAs in next 3 years Certified Urban and Rural Farm Advisors

Education Gyan-keyTM (Gyan Key- Library in rural schools) : With the help of Non-Resident Villagers (NRV) 3,055 Gyan-key libraries were installed in rural secondary schools in 1,075 working days. (3 Gyan-key libraries opened every working day)
• This is the world’s largest rural reading initiative and will benefit almost 8,50,000 rural students. • The success of this initiative : till date we have received 94,000 and donor’s 1,03,000 reactions from

Gyan-keyTM (http://ruralrelations.com/gyan-key) Gyan-key initiative is working towards opening libraries in rural secondary schools. It is a unique concept –a library for the students, by the students. The library is managed by one of the girl students Each library has minimum 180 books on various subjects in local languages, that benefits
approximately 300 rural students of 8 to 10 villages. To instill a sense of ownership & belonging, students are encouraged to donate books on their

Toilets :
The mission India has taken to eliminate practice of open defecation is lauded by everyone. Construction of toilets at every household is of utmost important and at the same time ensuring that these toilets are used is equally important. ISAP with its partner Prashak have cutting age technology to build toilets and effectively manage the waste so that these toilets are used regularly. Toilets

Drinking Water :
Contamination free drinking water for all is the target ISAP has set along with its partner ISHP. We have set- up 12 Arsenic treatment plants in Murshidabad and 5 fluoride treatment plants in Karnataka for public use. These plants are operated and maintained by community based water committees. Arsenic, fluorides and other toxins are severely affecting mental and physical; health of millions on Indians. Our plants are designed with the highest quality of filtration technology to provide toxin free pure drinking water. We not only set up these plants but involve locals to effectively manage and maintain these plants for hassle free long term operations. Our on ground presence ensures to keep monitoring these plants and provide timely help whenever needed.
Drinking water
• Our plants are sized as per the community need - typically benefitting 700-800 families • These filtration plants take care of the contamination type present in the ground water of
the location • On ground team of professional including medical practitioners not only create higher
awareness, hand holding of local committees but also been able to bring in better water saving, hygiene and general healthy behavior

Energy - Solar Micro Grid, Biogas Grid and Solar Pumps : ISAP along with its solar/ biogas partner Gram Oorja brings in deep understanding and experience in fulfilling energy needs of rural populations, especially in non grid coverage area. Rural off grid areas have very high potential of solar and biogas energy . Solid project management and appropriate technology selection by ISAP has potential to change livelihood and quality of life of millions at the same time helping Govt's focus to make affordable, reliable and cheap energy to all households. • 9 micro grids with ~250 metered household connections with average 3 LED light connections, TV and other energy points
• Biogas grid with capacity of 30 household connection with sufficient gas to cook all meals • 43 Solar pumps serving irrigation and drinking water needs of ~1600 households

Intended 450 Villages of 69 districts with about 50000 household of off grid areas to have uninterrupted, reliable, and cheap energy from renewable sources of highest technology.

Health :
ISAP along with ISHP have significant program intervention in rural and semi urban areas. We run specific campaigns, mobile medical units, public health initiatives, ICT in healthcare etc to strengthen health infrastructure and delivery systems. Drinking water projects has created very high health impact on areas of ground water contamination. We are contributing to Swatch Bharat Mission by way of toilet construction with appropriate technology suitable for rural areas. Health
