About ISTQB
The ISTQB (www.istqb.org) was officially founded as an International Software Testing Qualifications Board in Edinburgh in November 2002. TheISTQB is responsible for the international qualification scheme called “ISTQB Certified Tester”. ISTQB brings together testers and experts fromaround the world to work on one set of terminology and syllabuses with a view to allow this certification in Software Testing to be internationallyrecognised and coordinated.

Exam prerequisites
To qualify to sit for the CTALexamination, candidatesmust
• Have five years of verifi-able full-time work expe-rience in software or sys-tems testing, develop-ment, quality assurance,engineering or a relatedfield; with the exceptionthat
• A bachelor’s degree orhigher from an accreditedinstitution in computerscience or a related fieldmay be substituted for upto two years of work ex-perience; and
• Holds an ISTQB CertifiedTester - Foundation Levelcertificate
The validation of the exami-nation pre-requisites will beperformed by MSTB uponreceipt of the participant’sregistration for the examina-tion. An updated resumemust be submitted with theregistration form (if takingexam).
