The purpose of this document is to provide Federal- and State-compliant Protocols for Good Manufacturing, safety requirements along with MSDS, and other related information needed for the disinfection and deodorization of agriculture facilities, equipment, tools, cloning beds, grow beds, racks, hoses, extraction equipment, kitchen, water systems and most other facility equipment. ProKure V is a hospital-grade EPA-registered disinfectant for hard, non-porous surfaces. ProKure V is environmentally safe and, per the registered EPA claim, ProKure V leaves no harmful residue, unlike other disinfectants. ProKure V is not approved by the EPA for use on plants. It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with the labeling. Read the entire EPA label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and instructions. ProKure D is a gas deodorizer that may be used in enclosed, unoccupied areas to eliminate the odors associated with indoor growing environments. The information presented has been compiled from sources considered to be dependable and is accurate to the best of Clarion’s knowledge. Please check all State, Federal and local guidelines for your facility. Agriculture and horticulture will be referred to within as agriculture.

ProKure Products The active ingredient in ProKure products is chlorine dioxide (ClO2). When it is finished working, ClO2 breaks

down into water and table salt, leaving no harmful residues.

ProKure V, when used as directed, is an effective Disinfectant,

Sanitizer, Tuberculocide, Virucide*, Fungicide, Algaecide, Slimicide

and Deodorizer. ProKure V is an EPA-registered hospital-grade

liquid disinfectant for hard, non-porous surfaces that is effective in

the prevention, control and removal of mold, mildew, fungus, odor

and other issues that negatively affect the safety and viability of

industrially grown crops. When combined with cool water, the

ProKure V pouch generates a liquid solution of (ClO2).

The ProKure V pouch is available in four sizes; One Quart, One

Gallon, Five Gallons, and 25 Gallons; and can be applied by spraying, pouring, wiping and mopping onto any

hard, non-porous surface.

ProKure D is a deodorizer that releases ClO2 gas to neutralize odors associated with enclosed, unoccupied

facilities.

ProKure D Fast Use Gas Pouch releases a powerful gas upon contact with water and removes

odors within approximately 4 hours of activation. Wear gloves, non-ventilated safety goggles,

and a respirator with acid/gas cartridges when activating the product. Depart the space as

quickly as possible after activating the product and allow 1 hour for treated space to air out

before reoccupying. Product may oxidize and harm plants. Remove people, pets, and fish from

space prior to treatment.

ProKure D Extended Use Gas Pouches generate small amounts of gas with exposure to

humidity in the air to continuously control odors for up to 30 days inside facilities of all

types. ProKure D Extended Release Gas treatment pouches, when used as directed, emit

low levels of ClO2 gas to keep rooms odor-free.

To disinfect hard, non-porous surfaces, use ProKure V Liquid Disinfectant.

Product Preparation – Disinfection Strength ProKure V liquid at 100 parts per million (PPM) While ProKure V is available in many sizes, most facilities use either the 5-gallon or 20-gallon systems. ProKure

V kills odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew on hard, non-porous surfaces. Contact us at (866) 206-1301 for

assistance or any questions.

Immersing the pre-measured ProKure V pouch(es) in the appropriate amount of water creates a 100 PPM

solution of ClO2. Allow one (1) hour before use to ensure solution reaches full strength. Apply ProKure V by

mopping, spraying, pouring, or wiping and allow the treated area to remain wet for 10 minutes. Wipe any non-

stainless metals, glass and mirrors after application to avoid smears. ProKure V is safe for use on floors, walls,

furniture, stainless steel, glass, vinyl, polypropylene, PVC or other hard, non-permeable surfaces and may be

allowed to air dry.

ProKure V Liquid Disinfectant Preparation and Storage Instructions:

5. If preparing large quantities of solution, transfer into appropriate applicator. 6. Don PPE and apply by spraying, pouring, wiping and mopping. See Protocols for Disinfection of

Activated ProKure V solution lasts for 15 days when stored in an oxidation-proof, dark, closed or sealed container in a cool, dark location. Prior to use, verify formula concentration via chlorine dioxide test strips (185-4006) to determine appropriate concentration. When solution is exhausted, remove the spent white pouch and discard. Calculating Cubic Feet (ft3) for ProKure D Fast or Extended Use Gas To calculate the cubic feet of a room, multiply the measurements (in feet) of the length x width x height and round up to the nearest whole number. For example, the room is 32 feet long, 25 feet wide, and 10 feet tall. 32’ x 25’ x 10’ = 8,000 cubic feet (ft3). Always round up when calculating the number of pouches needed.

ProKure D Extended Use Gas For Ongoing Odor Control of Indoor Agriculture Facilities ProKure D Extended Use Gas Pouches generate small amounts of gas with exposure to humidity in the air for up to 30

ProKure D Fast Use Gas For Odor of Indoor Agriculture Facilities Two methods of releasing the ProKure D Fast Use Gas are available. ProKure D Fast Use Gases are sold with a clamshell and sponge for activation (Option 1). The 25-gram product can also be ordered without the clamshell and sponge (185-1010NC) and can be activated using a 12- to 16-ounce plastic cup (Option 2). For best results, clean the space with ProKure V prior to treatment. Spaces being treated with ProKure D should be kept as dark as possible. Fans and closed circulation systems improve performance. If additional organic material is in the room (such as vegetation, soil, fertilizer, mulch, etc.), more packets may be necessary for full effectiveness. Space pouches equally apart in the area to ensure complete coverage. The patented inner white Tyvek® pouch takes approximately 30 to 90 seconds to activate leaving time to exit the space. The gas releases much slower than a fogger. Depart the area as quickly as possible following activation. PPE should be worn at all times.

Two Methods of Activating ProKure D Fast Use Gas Deodorizer TREATMENT PROTOCOL – OPTION 1 (Using the sponge and plastic clamshell) Instructions for use in unoccupied, enclosed spaces: 1. Tear open the foil packet and remove the inner white

pouch. DO NOT OPEN THE INNER WHITE POUCH. 2. Shake the white pouch. 3. Dampen enclosed sponge with water. 4. Insert the base of the white pouch with the wicking

squares (teeth-like indentions) into the dampened sponge.

5. Place pouch with attached sponge into plastic clamshell and snap lid shut. Place clamshell with holes facing up on any flat surface, near the center of the area and approximately 18” away from mirrors, leather, metals, plated surfaces and electronics. Ensure clamshell is out of reach of children and pets.

6. Ensure all doors, windows, and vents (if applicable) are shut and leave the area as dark as possible.

7. Place DO NOT ENTER placard and caution tape at all entry ways.

8. Allow at least four to six hours for the system to work. 9. When treatment is complete, don PPE and enter the

space to remove and dispose of clamshells. 10. Turn on lights and mechanical system and allow

treated area to air out for one (1) hour prior to reoccupying by opening all doors, windows, vents, etc. A mild, residual “indoor pool” smell may persist for 1-2 days after treatment, but diminishes with exposure to light.

TREATMENT PROTOCOL – OPTION 2 (Using single pouch only – No sponge or plastic clamshell) Instructions for use in unoccupied, enclosed spaces: 1. Tear open the foil packet and remove the inner white

pouch. DO NOT OPEN THE INNER WHITE POUCH. 2. Shake the white pouch. 3. Fill a plastic cup with approximately 1.5” of water. 4. Insert the base of the white pouch with the wicking

squares (teeth-like indentions) into the water. Do not spill liquid in cup after white pouch activates.

5. Place plastic cup with pouch on any flat surface, near the center of the area and approxiimately 18” away from mirrors, leather, metals, plated surfaces and electronics. Ensure cup is out of reach of children and pets.

6. Ensure all doors, windows, and vents (if applicable) are shut and leave the area as dark as possible.

7. Place DO NOT ENTER placard and caution tape at all entry ways.

8. Allow at least four to six hours for the system to work. 9. When treatment is complete, don PPE and enter the

space to remove and dispose of pouches. 10. Turn on lights and mechanical system and allow

treated area to air out for one (1) hour prior to reoccupying by opening all doors, windows, vents, etc. A mild, residual “indoor pool” smell may persist for 1-2 days after treatment, but diminishes with exposure to light.

General Disinfection and Deodorization of Facility, Tools and Equipment ProKure V Liquid can be used at disinfection strength (100 PPM) on all hard, non-porous surfaces in a cultivation

facility by spraying, mopping, pouring or wiping floors, walls, sinks, counter tops, bathrooms and any other

equipment not negatively affected by water. ProKure V Liquid Disinfectant is not intended for use on plants.

Depending on the size, growth phase, health and variety, ProKure V liquid can oxidize and harm plants.

ProKure V Liquid at sanitizer strength (5 PPM) is registered as a no-rinse sanitizer for hard, non-porous food-

contact surfaces. Always check manufacturer’s recommendations for disassembling and cleaning your

equipment.

ProKure D Fast Use deodorizing pouches produce ClO2 gas that is able to seep into cracks and crevices, reaching

odors that mechanical cleaning and liquid application cannot reach. ProKure D is intended to be used in

confined, unoccupied indoor spaces. No people, pets or fish may remain in the room during treatment.

Following are protocols designed to maximize the effectiveness of ProKure products on your equipment for

specific applications in your facility.

In case of an outbreak of mold, mildew, and other microorganisms in your grow facility It is rare that a facility using ProKure products will have an outbreak of mold, mildew or other microorganisms. Each grow facility is unique and many variables factor into mitigating an outbreak. If you have an outbreak, please call us as soon as possible at (866) 206-1301 for a free consultation. Our qualified specialists will help you to determine the scope of the outbreak and the best solution to contain and eliminate it.

Protocols for Disinfection and Deodorization of Indoor Spaces The following protocols are intended to disinfect, sanitize, and deodorize grow rooms, buildings and/or greenhouses before and after harvest. Use PPE when applying the product. Always check manufacturer’s recommendations for disassembling and cleaning your equipment. Read instructions fully before proceeding. The following protocol may be used for:

Step 1: Prepare the Space 1. Prepare 100 PPM ProKure V Liquid solution at least 1 hour before disinfection.

2. Walk the area before application. Turn off CO2 generators and exhaust fans. Tape up and/or close all openings, exhaust vents, cracks or other areas where the ProKure gas could escape.

3. Cover and tape any carbon dioxide (CO2) sensors and smoke detectors. 4. Power wash walls, floors, grow beds, racks, tools, hoses, inserts and equipment to remove all dirt,

plant material and other debris prior to disinfection. 5. Apply the ProKure V liquid disinfectant first, then release the ProKure D deodorizing gas per the

instructions below.

Step 2: Apply ProKure V Liquid Disinfectant See page 6 for preparation instructions.

1. Using a sprayer like the ones listed on page 5 of this document, lightly mist walls taking care not to wet any electrical equipment such as electrical outlets, switches, sensors, lights or other items that may be harmed by water.

2. Thoroughly spray down and soak floors, grow beds, drying racks and all other hard surfaces to be disinfected.

3. Allow surfaces to remain visibly wet for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Set up and Activate ProKure D Fast Use Deodorizing Gas Packets See page 8 for calculating the correct number of packets.

1. Prepare the correct number of ProKure D Fast Use Gas Pouches in the space using either Option 1 or Option 2 on page 9. If possible, place clamshells or cups on a stable surface 4 to 6 feet off the ground. ProKure D gas is heavier than air and tends to sink. If running the fan on an enclosed HVAC system, place several of the pouches under the return air vent.

2. Place the ProKure D Fast Use gas pouches in the space to be treated and spread out as evenly as possible to cover the entire space.

3. Turn on wall or ceiling fans to move the air around for better gas dispersion into the space. 4. Turn off all lights, leave the space and close the door behind. 5. Using duct tape or the equivalent, seal any cracks or openings in the door, especially at the bottom

of the door. 6. Place DO NOT ENTER placard and caution tape at all entry ways.

Allow the ProKure D Fast Use gas to circulate for a minimum of 4 hours. Overnight is optimal. The more time ProKure has in contact with all of the room surfaces, the better.

Step 4: After the space has been treated Don PPE if entering the treated area to do the following:

1. Turn on exhaust fans to ventilate the remaining gas. 2. Turn on all of the lights in the space. Light breaks down the ProKure D gas quickly. 3. Remove spent ProKure D pouches and dispose of them in an outside trash receptacle. 4. Pour the liquid remaining in the cups or clamshell down a toilet. Save the cups for the next use. 5. Uncover the CO2 sensors and smoke detectors. 6. Allow one hour for the treated space to air out prior to entering without PPE.

Once the space has aired out, work can begin to set up the space for the next series of plants.

Protocols for Disinfection and Deodorization of Equipment, Tools, and Hard Surfaces

This protocol is intended to fully disinfect, sanitize, and deodorize tools, grow beds, racks, hoses, inserts and most all other grow facility equipment before and after harvest. Use PPE when applying the product. Always check manufacturer’s recommendations for disassembling and cleaning your equipment. Read instructions fully before proceeding.

Grow Beds, Cloning Beds, and Humidity Domes 1. Prepare 100 PPM ProKure V liquid solution at least 1 hour before disinfection. 2. Cloning Bed and Humidity Dome Only:

a. Remove neoprene inserts, mist emitters, pipe fittings and pump. b. Soak in ProKure V solution for at least 10 minutes. No rinse is necessary prior to reassembly.

3. Disassemble the equipment: a. Cloning Bed – cover, cloning bed, wheeled cart, pipes, pipe fittings, reservoir tank and hoses. b. Humidity Dome – trays, dome, and heat mats. c. Grow Bed – grow bed, wheeled cart, potting buckets and any other components.

4. Power wash or rinse to remove dirt and debris. 5. In a well-ventilated area, use a pump sprayer to spray ProKure V on all sides and surfaces of the

equipment. 6. Keep surfaces visibly wet for 10 minutes. 7. Allow to air dry. 8. Reassemble equipment.

Removing Slime & Algae from Tanks, Drums, Water Lines, and Pumps: This product will help control, inhibit or remove algae, fungi, slime or other organic buildups in recirculating water systems. If not removed completely, these can cause future issues. Pumps can be disassembled and the parts soaked in ProKure V to remove slime, algae, hard water deposits, and rust. To disinfect tanks, drums, water lines, and pumps:

1. Flush the system with water 2. Fill the system with ProKure V Disinfection Strength 100 PPM and allow it to dwell for 10 minutes. For

systems with large amounts of additional organic material such as nutrients or thick slime, allow the solution to dwell for up to one hour. The solution will be more effective with a longer exposure time.

3. Purge the system and empty the remaining ProKure solution into a toilet.

ProKure products leave no hazardous residue so the system can be immediately recharged without rinsing.

Disinfection of Scissors, Cutters, Tools, and Jars Cutters, scissors and other implements can be soaked in ProKure V Disinfection Strength 100 PPM for 10 minutes for full disinfection. A stronger solution of ProKure V (~500 PPM) will remove the resins faster.

1. Prepare ProKure V liquid solution in a sealed dispenser at the desired strength at least 1 hour before disinfection.

2. Transfer prepared product from dispenser to a container large enough to completely submerge the desired tool or portion of the tool you wish to clean.

3. Submerge tool in ProKure V liquid and allow it to soak for 10 minutes. 4. Remove tool and firmly wipe off any remaining resins with a paper towel or rag. The tool is now ready

to use. 5. Repeat as tools begin to build up resin.

Disinfection of Nutrient Totes, Drums, and Other Tanks Totes, drums, and tanks hold plant nutrients and contain fungi, algae, and slime that can be difficult to remove. To clean and disinfect, use a concentration of 100 PPM ProKure V liquid.

1. Prepare 100 PPM ProKure V liquid solution at least 1 hour before disinfection. 2. Thoroughly rinse the inside of the tank. 3. Completely drain. 4. Spray all surfaces generously using ProKure V liquid. 5. Let solution sit for at least 30 minutes to dislodge and dissolve organic fungi, algae, and slime. 6. Power wash the inside of the tank. 7. Drain the tank. The equipment is now ready to use.

Drying Rack Decontamination 1. Prepare 100 PPM ProKure V liquid solution at least 1 hour before disinfection. 2. Remove all plant material and debris. 3. Spray ProKure V liquid with a pump sprayer (in a well ventilated area) to all sides and surfaces. 4. Keep surface visibly wet for 10 minutes. 5. Rinse with potable water 6. Allow rack to completely dry before placing plant material.

Kitchen Equipment, Extraction Equipment, and Other Food-Contact Surfaces ProKure V is registered as a liquid sanitizer for hard, non-porous food-contact surfaces. Use the following

dilution instructions per the EPA label. Always check manufacturer’s recommendations for disassembling and

cleaning your equipment.

Concentration Use Use a Dilution Device or Sprayer

with a Dilution Ratio of

100 PPM Disinfectant Strength: For use on all non-porous hard surfaces, including non-porous food-contact surfaces. Food contact surfaces should be rinsed with potable water.

See page 6 for dilution instructions

20 PPM Sanitizer Strength: For use as a no-rinse, non-food-contact surface sanitizer for an exposure time of 5 minutes.

Precautions for safe handling

Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Do not breathe dust. Keep away from heat,

Section 10: Stability and Reactivity

REACTIVITY: Acidic salts, such as SODIUM BISULFATE, are generally soluble in water. The resulting solutions contain moderate concentrations of hydrogen ions

and have pH's of less than 7.0. They react as acids to neutralize bases. May

catalyze organic reactions. Increased risk of explosion if mixed with

ethanol. If compressed and mixed with calcium hypochlorite, sodium hydrogen sulfate, starch, and sodium carbonate, materials will

incandescence and explode. SODIUM CHLORITE is self-reactive. The

trihydrate crystals of sodium chlorite explode on percussion. Sodium

chlorite reacts with acids to form spontaneously explosive chlorine dioxide gas (ClO2). If heated above 175 °C, the reaction yields enough heat to

become self-sustaining. Ammonia with chlorites produces ammonium

chlorite, which is a shock-sensitive compound. Finely divided metallic or

organic substances, if mixed with chlorites, are highly flammable and may be ignited on friction. A mixture of organic matter and sodium chlorite can

be extremely sensitive to heat, impact, or friction. Sodium chlorite reacts

very violently with organic materials containing divalent sulfur or with free

sulfur (may ignite). CHEMICAL STABILITY: Stable under recommended handling and storage conditions (see section 7).
