Local and state outreach Project Director, Social Justice Education Project (SJEP), Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) and the University of Arizona: 2002- 2012

I develop, coordinate, and implement a social science program for four TUSD high schools (Cholla, Rincon, Pueblo and Tucson High). Approximately 250 high school students enroll in the program each school year.

Advisory Committee Member, Mexican-American/RAZA studies, Tucson Unified School District: 2003-present.

I advocate, support, and help to develop this program on a weekly basis, including direct appeals for budget increases to the school board and

superintendent, advise the current director regarding program activities and input on curriculum development.

Project Director, Social Justice Education Project Summer Youth Internship Program: 2003-2012.

I collaborate with Pima County's board of supervisors to provide Tucson high school graduates with university-level research experience. Approximately 15 high school graduates enroll in the internship program every summer.
