Advice: Start with a discussion of your personal experience, including how this online discussion is shaped by the use of computers, and very quickly dig into a discussion of Turkel's argument. Pay close attention to the following concepts: the evolution of the use of the concept transparency, the use of algorithms to imitate and predict human behaviors, the examples of CAD and telephones, and Turkel's discussion of "the culture of simulation."

Advice: You've already had the opportunity to discuss this question on a personal level with "Seeing Through Computers," so dig into the concepts discussed by Carr in relation to the question: Lewis Mumford’s analysis of the mechanical clock, Taylorism, the development of writing and the printing press, and potential cultural losses that may result from highly efficient means of communication.
