Dalby• Dalby is the biggest village of the two.

• Dalby is a suburb 30 minutes from Malmö, Sweden’s

third biggest city.

Nature• Dalby is placed in Scania, down in the south of

Sweden. In generally there are many trees in

Sweden, but in south Sweden there are more fields

than forests .

People• In Scania the people have always been more

farmers than woodworkers.

• In Dalby we grow sugar, potatoes and rapeseed.

Skrylle• We have a forest close to Dalby called

Skrylleskogen, where you´re not allowed to destroy

or break anything. It´s called nature servicing.

Dalby Stonechurch• Dalby has the oldest stone church in the northen

countries. It was built in the 1100, but has been

rebuilt a couple of times.

The church• Dalby’s church is a protestant church. Both women

and men can be priests.

• We have gay-marriages, even though far from

everyone gets married here.

• It´s common in Sweden to have children without

being married.

Dalby stenbrott

In Dalby you can swim in two places:

• Dalby Stebrott. They consist of cliffs and water in the

middle.

• It´s a pretty famous place in the Lund-area. A lot of

people, both Malmö and Lund, come to swim

there.

The Dalby bath• We also have a public bath, called Dalby Badet.

Here you pay to come inside.

• There are three pools. One big pool, one for kids

from age 4-8 and one for the smallest ones.

• When we swim with

school we also go to

Dalby badet.

SchoolsIn Dalby there are three public schools. They´re called

Nyvång, Haga and Skrylle.

• Nyvång and Haga are public schools. The teachers

decide what the students are supposed to do.

• Nyvång: the biggest of the three schools. It’s a

school with nearly a thousands pupils from age 6-16.

Haga and Skrylle

Haga: the second largest school. Pupils with students

from age 6-12. Similar to Nyvång.

Skrylle: the students decide more themselves what to

do, which is both positive and negative.

It has pupils from age 6-12 as well.

Torna Hällestad• Torna Hällestad is a small village, even smaller than

Dalby.

• There is a little market, which sells everything from

newly baked bread to fruits and candy.

Nature• The nature in Torna Hällestad is also beautiful,

maybe even more beautiful than Dalby.

• There is this valley called Björkensdal, which is this

gorgeous place with a pond and a very big and

old tree.

Football• They got a football team called THIF, they have a

club-house with a gigantic football on the roof.

• Football is a big thing in Torna Hällestad. (There are

also many people who have a big interest in

horses.)
