“You have been commissioned by the Northern echo to produce a new magazine or

newspaper product. Your product could be in any style or genre but it must be self

finance through sales or advertising. You must also produce your magazine for specific audience segment within the 16-25 age

group.”

My brief:

Page 3: Dance Pitch - Magazine

Page 4: Dance Pitch - Magazine

WHY DANCE?

★ I have previous dance knowledge after dancing for 12 years.

★ I am passionate about dance so I enjoy researching and writing about it.

★ There is a clear gap in the market for a hybrid magazine including both women's lifestyle & dance.

★ Current dance magazines aren't personal. They won’t involved activities which my TA enjoy doing away from dancing.

★ I have the same needs and interests as my target audience.

Page 6: Dance Pitch - Magazine

★ Female audience.

★ BC1 Socioeconomic status.

★ Tribe- Dancing Socialiser.

★ Education status - Sixth Form - TA wants to progress onto Higher Education.

★ Disposable income. Able to fund magazine purchases.

★ Not the stereotypically C2/D socioeconomic state.

Page 9: Dance Pitch - Magazine

THINGS TO CONSIDER-5 golden rules- I will seek the consent of the parent/guardian if photographing children, under the

age of 18. This is to protect ahainst intrusion into their live.

I will use my own images and not attempt to obtain images from the internet or other sources to stay within copyright laws.

I will seek the permission of the person holding copyrights over any information I gather to use so not to go against the copyright laws.

I will take note and script all interviews auditorly to ensure accuracy.

I will show all material I collet and intend to publish concerning an individual, so they canm check accuracy etc.
