Senior Biographies:

Brian Ignacio:Brian Ignacio has been dancing for 3 years here at Mission Vista. His favorite part of dancing is making new friends, having fun and learning new fun choreography. After High School

Brian plans on pursuing dance or joining the military, and coming back to MVHS to be a guest choreographer and help Mrs.Johnson, because we all know she can't do it alone. Brian’s favorite quote is “Let It whip!”

Imani Call:Imani Call has been dancing for 16 years and her favorite part of dance is being able to express herself in ways words can't. After high school she plans to continue her education at Mira Costa as

well as continuing her work at Palomar Animal Hospital. "Every 60 seconds you spend angry or upset is a minute of happiness you will never get back."

Lauren Buelna:Lauren has enjoyed every moment dancing at MVHS and loves the friends and experiences she has gained in Mrs. Johnson's program. She

plans to continue dancing at San Diego state university where she will major in performing

arts in the fall of 2013. Lauren would like to give Mrs Johnson a special thank you for encouragement to never lose hope, and especially to never give up on dance.

Itzel Ruiz:Itzel has been dancing since she was a sophomore in high school at Mission Vista. Her favorite part of dancing is the fact that it is a way she can tell a story with movement. It makes her feel alive and free. Her favorite styles of dance to do are contemporary and modern. Itzel plans on going to Mira Costa for two years and transferring to UCSD to major in Marine Biology. She hopes to one day help the sea

Page 9: Dance Show Program2013

animals by giving them a voice in society. She wants to take some dance classes every once in a while whether it is at Mira Costa or at different studios. "Pain is weakness leaving the body" -Marine Corps motto

Julianne Hoffman:Julianne Hoffman has been dancing since her freshmen year of high school at Mission Vista. She will be attending a four-year university next fall as a psych major and hopes to

continue dancing into old age.

Meghan Kennedy:Meghan began dancing at the age of 3, but after four years moved onto gymnastics and swimming. Once switching the MVHS as a sophomore, she began dancing once again. The

dance program at MVHS has allowed her to rediscover the passion for dance she had as a child. After graduation, Meghan will be attending UCSD and majoring in Human

Biology in hopes of attending medical school. However, when she is not studying, she hopes to be able to pick up a few dance classes and continue dancing on a regular basis!

Sierra O’Connor:Sierra O'Connor has been attending MVHS since her freshman year. She's enjoyed

experiencing dance through out high school. Her future plans are to attend Cal State Northridge in the Fall as a Theater Arts major. She would like to thank Mrs. Johnson for putting on a great dance show every year.

Germaine DeMattos:Germaine Star DeMattos  a senior at Mission Vista High School has been a part of the school since the very beginning.  To Germaine, Mission Vista is her home away

from home,  and she is so proud to have been a part of the shaping of the school.  Germaine loves to dance and perform, citing her participation in the dance department as one of

Page 10: Dance Show Program2013

the greatest experiences of her life.  Germaine would like to give a special shout out to her dance teacher, Mrs Johnson. She is so grateful to have had the opportunity to have been in her classes for the past three years. Mrs. Ross has been an inspiration and motivating force in her life.  Germaine plans on attending Mira Costa College in the fall. “Dance, laughter, love and smiles have all come out of being a part of Mission Vista High School. “I wouldn’t change it for the world…. LETS GO MVHS… Enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Cheyenne Worthington:Cheyenne Worthington has been dancing ever since she was in eighth grade. Dance has made a huge impact on her life and it is her favorite thing to do. Her favorite part

about dance is that she gets to make lots of friends, make new memories, and gain new experiences. She’s not entirely sure what she wants to be, but is interested in veterinary practices. She may not have a career involving dance, but she knows that dance will always be part of her life and plans on continuing to take courses in college.
