MOTOBRIDGE 4/8-PORT GATEWAY UNIT – CONT.

RGU • Connects Radio equipment to the system • Performs all audio buffering and Signal processing • Performs VoIP packet-distribution that allows all users

to get a replica of the audio from each radio • Supports up to 4 or up to 8 access radios • Connected to peers over LAN or IP • Encrypts audio over the IP network

13

MOTOBRIDGE 4/8-PORT GATEWAY UNIT – CONT.

WSGU • Perform the Dispatching functionality and/or Interfaces

with the Dispatch Console PC • Can be defined also as RGU (RGU/WSGU) in small

systems (Without OMC, i.e. G1 and G4 systems)

DISPATCH APPLICATION & REMOTE DISPATCH APPLICATION

• Enables a dispatcher to activate the WSGU, which allows control over: • Dispatch remote radios • Intercom connections • Audio conferences • Phone calls.

• WSGU is mandatory • Runs on the Microsoft XP Service Pack 3 /

Windows 7 (64 bit or 32bit) operating system

Presenter
Presentation Notes
The dispatcher can perform the following tasks using the DA: Add/delete a radio/voter talk-path Add/delete a dispatch talk-path Add/delete a radio-to-radio/voter talk-path (Uni-Directional or Bi-Directional). Add/delete a cellular radio-to-radio talk-path Manage a dispatch conference: create/end a conference, add a dispatcher to a conference, or add a SIP Phone call to a conference. Note: All DA, and RDA connected to the same WSGU can share a conference between themselves called “Local Conference”. Each DA can connect/disconnect itself to the conference and the DA can disconnect any of the connected RDA from the local conference. Multiselect (MSEL) groups Select/Unselect talk-path Select/Unselect Multiselect Group Transmit to selected radio talk paths only Tone Alert Takeover DTMF Tone generation TRC Repeater control Resource status and Resource Transmit status Remote Control Head for selected Motorola donor radios o Mode select o PTT-ID o Emergency-ID o Call Alert o Private Call o Group Call Display Activity-log: (Call Stack) for Analog Conventional MDC1200 users and Digital Conventional P25 users (Emergency-ID, PTT-ID supported) Radio Activity (incoming/outgoing Emergency, group call, private call), Radio Emergency, Radio errors, dispatcher activity on Radio MDC 1200 Emergency alerting Radio: An automatic Emergency Acknowledgement is generated by the MOTOBRIDGE system when at least one Dispatcher is connected to an MDC 1200 Emergency alerting Radio. MDC 1200 supported features: PTT ID, Short Call Alert, Radio Check, Emergency Alarm, Radio Enable, Radio Disable, and Remote Monitor. Enable outgoing calls, monitoring all channels, setting repeater state, and setting frequency of DIU3000 Digital Conventional P25 users Make SIP Phone calls (total of 4 phone calls). Receive SIP Phone calls (total of 4 phone calls). Add/Delete SIP phone-to-Radio talk-path Volume Control per resource Multiple speaker assignment - Select (speak&listen)/ Unselect(listen) / User assigned connections between multiple speakers and Radio/ Intercom/ Conference/ Phone-line modules. Available for WS-GU only. Create a Local or System Drawer Plan. Send SMS messages to a desired cellular phone holder. Receive SMS messages from cellular phone holder. I/O Signaling. MOTOTRBO radios: Display PTT-ID and Emergency-ID, and change: associated zone, channel numbers, and radio status. TETRA Radios: Display Activity log, control Direct Mode Operation Private or Group calls, control Trunked Mode Operation Full Duplex Private, Half Duplex Private, or Group calls. Alias Database for PTT-ID: capability of displaying aliases of Talk-groups and users for Radio resources simplified handling Encode Dual Function Tones TRC for ACIM Radio Type for more control functionality. XTL 5000 Mimic more accurately the Radio Control Head. Cross-mute neighbor WS-GUs' physically co-located. G711 .RPDFL Audio +P-C Controls Inter-connection with OMC

RGU

Presenter
Presentation Notes
G.711 is the international standard for encoding telephone audio on an 64 kbps channel. It is a pulse code modulation (PCM) scheme operating at a 8 kHz sample rate, with 8 bits per sample RPDFL = Remote PTT Dedicated Framing Layer MOTOBRIDGE uses both Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) for VoIP, and RPDFL for radio interoperability. Using RPDFL gives assurance to the user that when they press PTT it will be recognized at the other end, and provides the fastest end-to-end radio operation for highest quality voice. RPDFL, which uses less bandwidth than RTP, also adds all radio signaling, such as Unit IDs, Emergency Alerts, and Radio accept/deny, which can be passed between trunked networks from different providers and even between conventional and trunked networks.

SOFTWARE ONLY DISPATCH APPLICATION (SW ONLY DA) – CONT.

Unicast

Presenter
Presentation Notes
In order to save MOTOBRIDGE bandwidth consumption while using SW only DA, Important Radio Channel (IRC) Proxy should be configured on the WSGU. Generally stations in the same site communicates Multicast. Communication to other sites generally used unicast in order to avoid security issues and definitions complexity. The IRC Proxy allows one Peer-to-Peer connection between the dispatcher site to the radio site for all the dispatcher applications on the dispatcher site, while still using Multicast on each dispatcher site. This same MOTOBRIDGE resources. The Radio Proxy allows secondary multicast distribution of the Important Radio channel supporting hundred’s of Soft-dispatch clients all connected to the same Important Radio Channel on the same LAN.

23

MOBILE WIRELESS DISPATCH APPLICATION (MWD)

• Provides dispatching capabilities from an Android OS based Smartphone

• Operating over Wi-Fi and 3G/4G network connections

24

MOBILE WIRELESS DISPATCH APPLICATION (MWD) – CONT.

• The MWD user can monitor, control and patch various Radio types and communicate with other dispatchers by creating intercom connections

• Mainly used by senior commanders

25

MOTOBRIDGE TELEPHONY OPTIONS

Dispatcher to SIP Phone talkpath connection: Talkpaths to standard SIP Phones (such as Cisco 7940) over the standard RTP protocol. Dispatcher to PSTN Phone User talkpath connection: A talkpath to any public phone user (requires a SIP PSTN Gateway deployed). Add phone user to a Dispatcher’s conference: Within a mouse click, the connected phone user (SIP/PSTN) can be added to an existing dispatcher's conference as an equal member. Phone to Radio talkpath connection: In the existing two talkpaths (Dispatcher-to-Radio talkpath and Dispatcher-to-Phone talkpath
