#n FDM, you create an import !ormat based on the source type that you want to load to

the target application. 0he import !ormat de!ines the layout o! source data.

#n this tutorial, you de!ine the layout o! a source data !ile that includes !ields delimited

by a semi%colon. 0he !ollowing columns are included in the !ile3


#n the import !ormat, you de!ine the location o! these columns and map them to

dimensions in the target application

the location. 0he location combines related mapping and data load rules into a logical

grouping. &ou also review the period and category !or the data load.(er!orm the !ollowing steps to add a location and review the period and category

Under #ntegration Setup, select Location, and click Add to add a location.












Under #ntegration Setup, select Period Mapping to review the period de!initions on the

8lobal Mapping page.

&ou de!ine period mappings in FDM to map your source system data to (eriod

dimension members in the (M target application. &ou can de!ine period mappings at

the 8lobal, Application, and Source System levels.







Under #ntegration Setup, select Category Mapping to review the category de!initions.

&ou de!ine category mappings to map source system data to target Scenario dimension

members.








&ou create data load mappings in FDM to map source dimension members to their

corresponding target application dimension members. &ou de!ine the set o! mappings !or

#n FDM, click the Workflow tab. Under Data *oad, select Data Load Mapping.






&ou must select the (oint o! 2iew '("2) to de!ine the data load mappings !or a speci!ic

location, period, and category. At the bottom o! the page, click the current location name

and de!ine the ("2 in the Select (oint o! 2iew dialog bo$.

&our ne$t step in FDM is to create a data load rule !or a speci!ic location and

category to de!ine what you want to import !rom the source system. For e$ample, the

data load rule de!ines the !ile's) that you want to import in addition to other details. A!ter

creating the data load rule, you e$ecute it to import the data !or one or more periods. &ou

then veri!y that the data was imported and trans!ormed correctly, and then e$port the

data to the target application.

+reate and e$ecute a data load rule to import and validate the

source data.

file HFM_Data_Load.txt(
