OMNYX is a real-time integrative roaming management and innovation system that presents the roaming manager with essential roaming traffic information. OMNYX effectively analyzes collected information and, using its unique analytical and decision making tools, empowers the roaming manager with important data to meet today’s challenges. OMNYX is built on a roaming desktop, a new conceptual work environment that features a wide range of user-friendly web objects to provide the roaming manager with an extensive range of valuable data and critical calculations. ▪ Sparx™ solution – a real time roaming marketing and relations management tool that generates dynamic and focused follow-up marketing campaigns based on information gathered from the roamer’s profile. Sparx increases operators’ revenues and significantly improves the user’s roaming experience.

▪ Roaming Control™ solution – provides mobile operators with the ability to control and manage their roamers’ voice, SMS and data usage. By monitoring traffic on a real-time basis, operators can bar/redirect service, and define limitations, packages and communities. The product supports EU regulations.

▪ CAMEL Anywhere™ solution – offers prepaid and postpaid subscribers seamless roaming services anywhere, in any network, independent of CAMEL technology. Starhome’s CAMEL Anywhere does not require any expensive CAMEL upgrades or complex roaming implementation.

RETAIL SERVICES OMNYX ™ Suite

Provides numerous tools and information to support and maximize subscribers’ roaming usage.

▪ Roaming Desktop™ tool – provides real-time daily information and views to give operators a complete picture of their retail business, including group clusters such as: comparisons of customer usage and marketing segments, marketing campaign tracking and analysis, etc.

▪ Segmentation™ tool – on-the-fly segmentation allows operators to tailor their roaming campaigns and track in real time the effect and impact of new campaigns.

▪ Campaign Recommendation™ tool – based on the Segmentation Tool, OMNYX recommends new bundles and campaigns, supported by marketing feeds from various sources.

▪ Home Short Code™ solution – allows roamers to seamlessly access their home VAS using their familiar short codes, thus increasing revenue potential from both inbound and outbound roaming. Using Starhome’s global database, the solution is able to support all types of short code-to-long-number translation methods, while its propriety global network enables unique CLI delivery for personal VAS access like at home.

▪ Proamotion SMS™ solution – promotes operators’ offerings to outbound and inbound roamers via spam-free, focused, revenue-generating messages. The solution enables mobile operators to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market.

▪ Mobile2IP™ solution – enables seamless mobile communication on any IP device by providing GSM-to-IP and IP-to-GSM mobile services. Mobile2IP allows users of different devices to route incoming calls to their IP Soft Phone, GSM phone, or both. For example, users in a “hotspot” can choose to receive calls on either their laptop or mobile device (via their mobile number).

▪ Local Roaming Data™ solution – enables operators to offer lower–priced local roaming data packages for inbound roamers, encouraging subscriber loyalty. Reduces operators’ IPX/GRX traffic and costs.

▪ Local Roaming Number™ solution – provides a virtual local number for inbound roamers on their home SIM card, without the need for an additional SIM or handset. Implementation can be home-based, or based on local prepaid charging.

▪ Next Generation Intelligent Preferred Network® (NG IPN) solution – get optimum steering results and meet wholesale discount agreements using an automated revenue-based steering of roaming tool. NG IPN can be used in combination with SS7 and OTA based steering and automatically performs the key task of continuously monitoring and tuning the SoR system to detect the smallest deviation in the roamer’s behavior pattern.

▪ Gateway Location Register solution – provides a standard 3GPP optimization system to increase inbound roaming revenues and lower international signaling costs by

reducing the amount of signaling messages sent via the signaling provider to the HPMN.

▪ Intelligent Border Roaming™ solution – keeps subscribers registered to the home network when traveling near international and national borders, preventing accidental roaming. Intelligent Border Roaming combines control over roamers’ registration attempts with interrogation of HPMN elements.

▪ Roaming Shield™ solution – allows mobile operators to detect and block illegal anti-SoR activities against their outbound roamers by the visited network. With focused alarms and comprehensive reports, Roaming Shield is an important addition to the mobile operator’s steering strategy.

▪ QoS Views™ tool – monitors, detects and alerts operators about possible QoS problems that could potentially affect roaming revenues and the user experience. Special widgets give the operator the information needed to meet QoS KPIs; such as ASR measurements, call duration, data sessions, etc.

▪ Revenue Assurance™ tool – real-time information lets operators support and monitor revenue assurance to control any potential problems that might affect revenues.

▪ Optimal Voicemail Deposit™ solution – eliminates international tromboning and increases the number of completed calls and voicemail retrievals. The solution can be configured to handle voicemail only, or any type of forwarding according to the operator’s requirements.

▪ Leakage Identifier™ solution – identifies leakage of inbound roamers to a competing network and provides operators with alerts to identify GSM radio coverage holes as well as HPMN steering actions. It also provides useful information about roamers’ location changes and cell ID resolution.

▪ NG Service Broker™ solution – allows seamless orchestration of any existing or future IN/CAP/SIP/IMS services. It also overcomes the limitation of IN networks and enhances IN capabilities to enable multiple trigger support for a single IN service event, such as a call, an SMS and a data session.

▪ Home Rerouting™ solution – enables HPMNs to capitalize on a new revenue opportunity without affecting the roamer or the VPMN. The service identifies calls from roamers to their home country and routes them back through the home network.

NETWORK OPERATIONS SERVICES OMNYX ™ Suite

Provides several tools and information to monitor, predict and discover roaming problems in a multidimensional network environment.

▪ Roaming Desktop™ tool – provides daily information and network KPIs in real time, giving operators a complete representation of their network. By linking the roaming network and QoS issues to roaming revenues, OMNYX highlights areas where there are specific revenue problems.

By completing the final leg of the call, the home network can collect the resulting interconnection fees.

▪ Roaming Call Optimizer™ solution - allows the HPMN to determine how outbound roamers’ calls are routed to their destination, thus optimizing call costs and increasing profitability. The solution also ensures CLI delivery and better control and visibility of QoS.

▪ Roaming QoS™ solution – lets operators secure inbound and outbound roaming revenues and improve roamers’ satisfaction. Includes active and passive means to meet GSMA GRQ initiatives utilizing end-to-end testing with extensive coverage, KPI definitions to monitor and troubleshoot QoS in near real time, and analysis of potential revenue leakage.

▪ Embedded Mobile Manager™ solution – enables expansion into the growing field of M2M devices. The solution takes control of M2M device activities, allowing operators to detect roaming devices in the network, optimize network performance and reduce operational costs. It also adds a reinforcing layer by monitoring EM network resource usage in real time and providing backup when the HLR is not available.

The heart of Starhome’s managed service environment is the Global Services Operations Center (GSOC). Two centers provide 24/7 worldwide service provisioning, monitoring and maintenance, and centralized network management. Unique to the roaming industry, Starhome’s GSOC enables operators to outsource the monitoring of their roaming environment.

Monitoring ServicesStarhome offers four levels of monitoring comprising the following:

Level 1 – SNMP and Network MonitoringProvides both visual and graphic display alarms using the industry standard HP OpenView.

Level 2 – CDR-O-Meter Allows the GSOC to monitor each of Starhome’s services (ICA, GLR, IPN, SMS services and others) by performing an analysis of the CDRs and counters gathered from different systems and services.

Level 3 – Daily QoS Reports QoS reports analyze the traffic and activity of the different VHE, ICA and SMS services. A daily overview of the service level allows detection of trends and malfunctions that do not appear in the CDR-O-Meter and HPOV.

Level 4 – Periodic QoS Reports Periodic QoS reports are designed to identify unusual behavior not previously detected by lower level monitoring, and are reviewed on a weekly basis by Starhome’s QoS and Revenue Assurance analysts.

The Roaming Data Group Provisioning

Starhome’s end-to-end provisioning includes analysis and fine tuning for Starhome solutions, relieving the operator of the responsibility for service maintenance.Provisioning includes installation and configuration of Starhome services plus a range of online activities and global analysis of service behavior. Online provisioning activities include SMS messaging management for inbound and outbound communities and for roaming tariff information. Analysis and fine tuning cover missing short codes, missing call completion rules, failure rates and, most importantly, analysis and balance of service behavior vs. subscriber experience.

Analysis and Action

Starhome’s dialing solutions are widely used by mobile operators worldwide. However, since each operator has its own network properties and configuration, deployment requires some adaptation between the network and the Starhome solutions.The Roaming Data Group focuses on service availability to ensure that Starhome solutions deliver the highest level of performance. The service ensures that all incoming transactions for voice messages (IAM, IDP, MAP and Update Location) are identified, maximizing the rate of completed calls through the network.Analysis and Action also provides post-launch support by checking live traffic to ensure maximum service utilization. Potential problems are identified quickly, ensuring customer satisfaction and, of course, operator revenue.
