DataON TracSystem is a fully integrated and turnkey Windows Server 2016 HCI solution that delivers on the promise of simplicity, scalability and affordability. Comprised of DataON S2D Server Ready Nodes that are field proven with over 600 customers and over 100PB deployed, the TracSystem is customized, performance-tuned and simple-to-deploy.

The TracSystem Lightning series is the first validated Intel Select Solution with Windows Server Software-Defined Solutions. It leverages the Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors Family, Intel® Optane™ Technology and NVM Express (NVMe™) to deliver breakthrough performance and incredible responsiveness, with greater VM density.

• Breakthrough performance and dramatically reduced disk latency with over 3M IOPS throughput for write-intensive workloads by leveraging Intel® Optane™ SSDs that are NVMe-based for the fast cache tier for Window Server 2016 Storage Spaces Direct.

• Greater VM density per cluster with Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, delivering up to 28 cores per socket, 18 DIMMS per CPU memory density, and 224 physical cores for a 4-node Storage Spaces Direct HCI deployment.

• Highest networking efficiency and throughput with SMB3 RDMA fabric delivering 2x throughput compared to TCP/IP, less than 1 µsec latency from VM-to-VM communication, and fewer CPU cycles per I/O with better core utilization.

Every TracSystem HCI is pre-configured with DataON MUST (Management Utility Software Tool) infrastructure visibility, monitoring and management software, which provides SAN-like storage monitoring features and system alerts based on Windows Health Service faults. The inclusion of MUST is what completes a Windows Server 2016 solution as a viable SAN replacement.

DataON TracSystem solutions are built to optimize the full stack of Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct in a hyper-converged platform. They are designed with integrated compute, network and storage infrastructure with near-linear scalability to simplify and maximize the deployment of Microsoft applications, virtualization, data protection and hybrid cloud services. These pre-configured clusters can support over 40 Hyper-V VMs per nodes, for expanded capacity and operational flexibility.

These solutions can achieve over 3M IOPS in a 4-node cluster. They combine high-performance Intel Optane NVMe SSDs with all-flash storage and SMB3 networking to maximize performance and capacity. These appliances run on the Cluster Shared Volumes Resilient File System (ReFS) to maximize data availability, deliver high resiliency, and improve data integrity across scale-out file server (SoFS) and software-defined data center stacks.

• Preconfigured 4-node HCI clusters – Provides expanded capacity with scalable and operational flexibility, with up to 16 nodes.

The DataON TracServer solutions are integrated with DataON’s exclusive MUST visibility and management tool to provide SAN-like storage monitoring features for customers deploying Windows Server software-defined solutions.

Leveraging the Windows Health Service API, MUST provides visibility to system-level information and storage cluster / volume / node-level utilization.
