Dear delegates,
my name is Patrizia Attanasio, I am 22, and right now I am attending a master degree in European Studies. I cannot explain how glad I am to be the Secretary General for IMUN 2015. At first I was afraid (it's a big conference!!), but then, I realized that managing the conference would have been a lot easier thanks to the wonderful United Network Staff and the collaboration of our American counterpart – IMUNA. I hope you have your suits ready, because I really can-not wait to see you!
The Italian Model United Nations has had several edition, since 2011, and every year we work to try to improve it, and I can tell this is working! But this wouldn't have been possible without those fantastic and enthusiastic people that helped us through this challenge, most of which have been delegates like you. The United Network organizing committee and all the staff-ers will do their best to give you the best experience possible for this coming IMUN edition and we hope you will enjoy this year conference.
My first MUN experience was back in 2011, when I was attending my senior year in high school. I wouldn’t have ever imagined what it really means to take part to one of these confer-ences. I can openly say that this experience changed my life in so many ways. First and foremost, I learnt how different and fascinating other cultures could be, not only studying them, but living them in person. Then, I realized how passionate and bright my peers could be: delegates from all over the world showed their commitment to this conference as well as the young staffers. Finally, I discovered what I really want to be in my life: someone who will change the world. I am not saying that I want to be a Nobel Laureates or the discoverer of a new scientific theory, because it is possible to change the world even in everyday life. Simple actions can help the world to change: it all starts from each of us.
So, does a MUN change the world? I personally think YES it does. New generations have the chance to participate in international conferences where they can share ideas, meet new peo-ple, experiment new cultures and become more aware about what is happening in the world. 'Wearing the shoes' of a real delegate is giving the possibility to open a new window of your mind. You are having the possibility to change your life and even the world a little bit, in four days, don’t waste it because I want YOU, IMUN delegates, as tomorrow leaders and future change-makers!
I look forward to meeting you during committees Best, Patrizia Attanasio United Network Secretary General IMUN 2015

Dear delegates,
it is a huge honour for me, along with the Secretary General, to welcome you to IMUN 2015! My name is Luca Medichini and I will be the Director General in this year’s simulation.
This is my third year in the staff of United Network and my fourth IMUN (I first partici-pated as a delegate, of course). Together with all the other staff members we have worked and tried to make this conference always better, year after year, and hopefully it will show. As a mat-ter of fact, I must tell you I am extremely excited for what will surely be an incredibly interesting conference, full of stimulating debates on the most discussed issues and topics in the assemblies of the United Nations.
Therefore, I really hope you will have a grat time, enjoying yourselves and expanding your knowledge and your interests during the time you will spend in the committees. Enjoy the conference and don’t forget to have fun! Luca Medichini United Network Director General IMUN 2015
