ClearedJobs.Net is proud to introduce a new charity partner – Pets2Vets.

History Founder Dave Sharpe is a fourth generation veteran who served overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Upon his return home to the U.S., Dave found that the hardships of war started to take a toll on him. However, with the aid of his loving dog Cheyenne, Dave was able to get his life back to normal through his bond with his dog, Cheyenne. Along with fellow veterans who constitute the P2V Board of Directors, Dave wanted to reach out to his fellow brothers and sisters and their families who serve(d) our nation in the military, law enforcement, and emergency personnel professions. In doing so, Dave also wanted to help save our homeless animals and saw the therapeutic potential of the unique bond of love, comfort, and support that could aid both the veteran and homeless pet. How We Connect Pets with Vets • Veterans, Law Enforcement Officers, and Firefighters and/ or their families are transported to the

Washington Animal Rescue League (W.A.R.L.) and matched with a suitable pet. • Once our heroes pick his/ her dog or cat, he/ she start the bonding process – enabling our heroes to

spend time with their new pet; the Washington Animal Rescue League has waived the $195.00 adoption fee for PETS2VETS.

• After our heroes have visited his/ her pet during the bonding period, PETS2VETS along with its Board of Directors, partners, and volunteers, will transport the pet to the hero’s home anywhere in the United States.

• If the hero can unfortunately no longer provide adequate care for the pet, then PETS2VETS will ensure the pet is returned to the Washington Animal Rescue League or a pet-friendly foster family for possible re-adoption through the same travel arrangements the pet arrived at the veteran’s home.

P2V Matches include: • Any WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and Operation Iraqi

Freedom (OIF) Veteran and/ or the family members survived by a combat veteran. • Any law enforcement officer, firefighter, emergency personnel, and the 9/11 families suffering with the

hardships of their everyday struggles. • Veterans who have a discharge date from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center/ Bethesda Medical

Center and/ or are willing to move off Walter Reed Army Medical Center/ Bethesda Medical Center grounds within two months from using P2Vs’s services who would like to adopt a dog or cat.
