Tonya Fotinos is the new administrative assistant with the department of management. She is a native Texan (BOI) from the Galveston/Alvin area. Tonya graduated from the University of Texas, Austin with a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior. After college, she and her husband worked with US Fish and Wildlife on Texas coastal prairie restoration and endangered prairie grouse for two years. Tonya moved back to Austin to spend three years as the lab manager of the fire ant/phorid fly research lab at UT Austin trying to establish a biological means of control for the exotic pest. Her love of organization has brought her now to Texas State.
Tonya currently lives in Wimberley with her husband, a Texas State alumni and Aquatic Resources PhD student in the Biology Department, and her herd of wild cats. Her hobbies include sewing, website development, and baking.
