Why to separate fine from woody/bulky garden waste
Shrink the volume to be shredded to the woody garden
fraction only and by this saving treatment costs;
Provide well storable (without a lot of easily degradable grass
and leaves) shredder material as high carbon bulking agent to
be available for all seasons for proper composting;
Reduce the demand of containers to the fine garden fraction
which amounts usually only 25 to 35 % of the total garden waste
collected; and
Provide the possibility to produce also a chopped wood
fraction of sufficient quality for biomass boilers.
