• U.S. Government Per Diem File Issues with Deltek Expense

• Issue 1: Using the government's new "Expanded" (E-CONUS) per diem file option.

• Issue 2: Errors relating to recent increase in the Per Diem Incidentals amount from $3.00 to $5.00.



• Issue 1: Using the government's new "Expanded" (E-CONUS) per diem file option.

• Problem: A new alternative file for CONUS per diem rates, "Expanded Locations". – State, County, and major city.

– Does not include an "All Places Not Listed" entry. • "Expanded Locations" ASCII Files containing 36,000+ records versus the 1500+ records

• Resolution: Deltek Expense customers should continue to use the "Original" file.– The Original files begin with Con (Connow-10.txt)

– The Expanded Locations files begin with an e_ (e_connow-10.txt)

• Issue 2:Errors relating to recent increase in the Per Diem Incidentals amount from $3.00 to $5.00.

• Problem: The US Government recently changed the amount of allowable incidentals from $3.00 to $5.00. Importing the per diem 2010 file from the government for rates effective 10/1/09 results in errors and incorrect incidental amounts. The log tab on the import console screen displays the following error: "Invalid total M&IE amount".

• Resolution (Supported Versions): For supported versions a hot fix is available for this. Go to the Deltek Knowledge Center and search for "per diem". The supported versions and associated hot fixes are:– Version 8.0.4: Hot Fix #11 (KB# 42810)

– Version 8.1.1: Hot Fix #66 (KB# 42787)
