Deficiency

• Manpower

• More Doctors experienced in neurophysiology are required.

• Trained technicians are needed

• Machine accessories (e.g. Lead, Ground, Needle, Needle Cable & Others) Should be supplied as

per need.

• Delay in the maintenance/servicing of the machine, when these become non-functioning.

• Shortage of room (each machine should be placed in separate room)

Recommendations:

• Creation of two separate wings of Clinical Neurophysiology department:

• Epilepsy and EEG, EPs

• Neuromuscular disorders and EMG

• Two separate Neurophysiology lab.

• EEG and Evoked potentials lab.

• EMG lab.

• Upgrading of the previous EEG machine with adding video camera for video EEG monitoring.

Setting up a central EEG reporting room.

• Creation of separate room for each EEG and NCS machine.

• Supplying desktop computer machine for patient appointment, serial and record keeping.

• Creation of central computer networking system for information with all departments.

• Fixed outdoor for Clinical neurophysiology

A. Epilepsy outdoor;

• Adult wing

• Pediatric wing

B. Nerve & muscle disorder OPD

1. Adult wing

2. Pediatric wing

• Separate indoor ward for Clinical neurophysiology; at least 20 bed should be allocated for admitted

patients

• Providing adequate manpower

Future requirement

Doctor

• Medical officer - 06

• Assistant registrar- 02

• Registrar- 01

• Assistant Professor -02
