OGA is honoured by the presence of Deputy Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi who officiated the Opening Ceremony of OGA 2017, which took place at Plenary Theatre of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Also in attendance were YAB Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Advisor for PETRONAS and YBhg Tan Sri Sidek Hassan, Chairman of PETRONAS among other VIP present. An enhancement to this edition of OGA, PETRONAS conducted a special presentation on “Delivering Excellence Through Standardised Cementing Practices Across Malaysia” for OGA attendees. There will also be another session tomorrow focusing on Low Cost Drilling (LCD) Initiatives, scheduled at 12 noon in Hospitality Lounge 5, Hall 5. SUBSEA Malaysia occupies Hospitality Lounge 4, in Hall 4 with a series of technical presentation sessions - free for visitors to attend. There will also be a Reception and Whisky Tasting session which provides a great opportunity to network. ChrOMatOteC® Offers energyMeDOr as sulfur

Na t u r a l gas i s a na t u r a l resource present on the earth which can vary in composition depending on the place i t is ex tracted, and need to be control led. Even i f i t is composed mainly of methane, natural gas contains some traces of sulfur compounds which can af fect its qualit y a n d c a n h a v e d r a m a t i c ef fects for its transportation (e.g. corrosion of the pipes). Therefore, companies that work with natural gas control

the level of sulfur compound impurities as well as adding specific Mercaptans to make it odourised and easily detectable in case of a leak.

For this purpose, Chromatotec® has developed and manufactured the energyMEDOR® which measures with speciation all following sulfur compounds generally present in the natura l gas: H2S/DMS/DMDS/Mercaptans. These new instruments are designed to work in hazardous areas such as ATEX zone 1, without any purge gas requested for operation.

This MEDOR Ex D Solution is one of the only instruments capable to analyse all previously mentioned sulfur compounds in hazardous area without purge gas thanks to the MEDOR® wet cell detector.

Chromatotec®’s energyMEDOR appears to be the best solution for these applications since it only needs a very small amount of zero air or nitrogen to operate (down to 4 ml/min) and its MEDOR® wet cell Sulfur Specific Detector is capable to detect sulfurs as low as 1 ppb. This certified solution has been designed to operate in zone I and II and can be used with 230V, 115V and 24V DC power supply.
