It is important that during this time students stay focused. Year 11 students have made a smooth transition into their final 12 months of study with subject changes to be finalised this week - students are reminded to complete their paperwork as soon as possible. The Year 8 Personal Interest Projects have again been outstanding this year. It has been excellent to see the effort of our students. The PIP process is a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their amazing skills and abilities outside of conventional learning. Thank you very much to Mrs Seccombe for all her hard work and organisation. A massive thankyou to Mr Yates for his organisation of the Forensic Workshop that our junior students were involved in. It was great to see students actively engaged and enjoying this excellent activity. RRHC is a uniform school and we expect that our students wear uniform with pride. We have made contact with every parent via text, and through other mediums, to support students in meeting this expectation. Thank you to the 74 parents, 88% of students and 90% of staff who completed the Tell Them From Me Survey. The information supplied is vital to help us plan for improving RRHC for our students. This year has been the highest participation rate and we appreciate the time that you have given to complete the survey. We look forward to analysing this data to further improve our school. “You may have heard the world is made up of atoms and molecules, but it's really made up of stories. The Rivers Secondary College - Richmond River High Campus uses STYMIE to support student wellbeing and to support direct

action against bullying in our school. The program educates bystanders about their responsibilities and provides an online, independent reporting method, ensuring complete anonymity for students making notifications; creating a sense of safety in ‘the crowd’. The use of Stymie will help change the ‘culture of acceptance’ of bullying behaviours. Students can access Stymie by going to www.stymie.com.au and www.facebook.com/stymieau

Forensic Workshop On Monday a crime had to be investigated at Richmond River and only the keen minds of our intrepid forensic scientists could solve the case. They had the clues... They had the commitment... But would it be enough to provide justice for their victim.

Armed with a plethora of evidence ranging from GPS data, text messages, DNA analysis, autopsy results and microscope analysis, students ruled out suspects, determined motives and finally nabbed the killer. It was fantastic to see the critical thinking and collaboration on display from our enthusiastic young scientists. It further highlights the importance of curiosity in learning. A massive thank you to those who participated for their enthusiasm and ambassadorship of the school; it was excellent. Boden Yates HT Science

Dancers perform at The North Coast National The RRHC Dance Troupe did Miss Dessmann proud at the North Coast National on Friday. The students choreographed their own dances to the songs 'Don't Give Up On Me' and 'Circus'. 'Don't Give Up On Me' told the emotional story of an illness being passed between the group, while 'Circus' demonstrated the creativity of each dancer to explore how individual strengths can combine to put on a show. Year 8 Personal Interest Projects Congratulations to all the students who have presented their projects. It was great to see the effort put into the projects and the presentations. Thank you to the staff and community members, who were a part of the judging panel. The projects reflected many interests and were created through art, photography, computer technology, woodwork, textiles, metalwork, writing and more. Thank you to all who supported the students during this process. Here is a small selection of the wonderful projects presented, unfortunately we can’t fit them all in.
