From Bach, Beethoven, and Berlioz to Broadway and Bugs Bunny, our 2016-17 season is

overflowing with symphonic Masterworks, dazzling Pops, and internationally-acclaimed guest

artists. Whether your love is Classical, Pops or both, we’ve programmed a season that will

delight and inspire you from September to May!

Each concert in our Masterworks season has something for everyone to enjoy – magnificent

masterpieces, star performers, and a few surprises I think you’ll love. Our Pops series, now in

its second year, brings back audience favorites and introduces Kristin Chenoweth’s sparkling

soprano to Des Moines. The musicians and I can’t wait to bring this season’s music to life in

our new acoustic shell.

As always, the best way to make sure you don’t miss out on a moment of these great

performances is to become a subscriber. Our members receive invitations to special

Our 79th season opens with Rossini’s galloping William Tell Overture and Bach’s dazzling Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Finally, experience the elation of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. You’ll be swept off your feet as the Symphony is joined by a soaring, 200-voice choir in this joyful anthem for humanity.

Half-price tickets: Students may purchase any Masterworks subscription for half-price. Single tickets for Masterworks Concerts are also available for half-price in all sections – just visit the Civic Center Ticket Office to purchase.

Collegiate 7: Any college student may subscribe to our seven Masterworks programs for just $40 – that’s less than $6 per ticket! Call 515.280.4004 by September 16 to order.

Student Rush Tickets: At all Masterworks concerts, subject to availability, students high school age or younger may sit in any section for $5, and older students may sit in any section for $10. That means a $65 ticket could cost just $5! Available at the Civic Center Ticket Office the day of the concert only.
