N+7N+7 was invited by a group of writers and

mathematicians called Oulipo.

Oulipo is the Ouvroir de Littérature Potentielle

translated to workshop of potential literature.

The group define Litterature Potentielle as ‘the seeking

of new structures and patterns which may be used by

writers in any way they enjoy.’

They use a constrained writing technique called N+7

which works on the basis of replacing each noun in

the text with the seventh noun along in the dictionary.
