Now in its 19th year, agIdeas is a major event on the design calendar, attracting a sell‑out audience from the design and business community and the general public from across Australia and beyond. agIdeas offers access to the minds of the brightest in design today, providing insights into why design is difference. International creative leaders and home grown talent will engage in an exciting program that will look at what is happening in design today from across the design spectrum ‑ illustration, industrial design, graphic design, film, branding, product design, landscape architecture and more will be featured. With over 40 of the world’s creative leaders, agIdeas is: the International Design Forum (3 days of talk about design); Studio Access (visits to Melbourne’s leading design studios); Workshops (full day workshop with an international design master); Futures (student design expo); NewStar (design competition and exhibition); Advantage (business breakfast forum); disCourse (gala dinner) and uNite (after party). ‘agIdeas is about design excellence, and this year we have produced a beautiful limited edition book for agIdeas 2009 ‑ with information about speakers, interviews by leading designers and more. agIdeas began small and today we have an audience of over 10,500 annually. Each year, our brief evolves, but in essence we always aim for those at the top of their field from across design disciplines internationally. I am thrilled to have created agIdeas all those years ago and to see it grow and develop into what it is today’, says Ken Cato, Creative Director, agIdeas.

KaTE CullITy AuStrAlIAKate Cullity is a landscape architect and partner in the award‑winning practice, taylor Cullity lethlean. recently working on the Australian Garden for the royal Melbourne Botanic Gardens.

Shannon BEnnETT (VuE DE MonDE) AuStrAlIAChef Shannon Bennett’s restaurant Vue de monde is in Melbourne. It is testament to the belief that restaurant food can be a wondrous, unforgettable experience. He achieves this through his commitment to every detail.

ChrIS BoSSE GErMANyGerman‑born architect Chris Bosse is most recently recognised for his work on the Water Cube swimming center built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Chris Bosse is presented in association with Nissan.

JIll BIlCoCK AuStrAlIAJill Bilcock has emerged as one of the world’s leading film editors, working with some of cinemas most esteemed and diverse filmmakers. renowned for the diversity of her work, including Moulin rouge! and Elizabeth.

anDrEa InnoCEnT AuStrAlIAAndrea is an illustrator with an eye for the quirky and the eccentric. She has worked in fashion design, textile design, animation and character design.

ÉTIEnnE MInEur FrANCEÉtienne helped establish the innovative Paris based agency, Incandescence and developed the website and virtual catalogues for the Japanese fashion designer, Issey Miyake. Étienne is brought to agIdeas in association with XyZ Studios.

alExIa SInClaIr AuStrAlIAAlexia Sinclair’s digital art is dark and seductive, baroque and symbolic; presenting contemporary notions of fashion and beauty, while restoring antique notions of classicism, elegance and luxury.

MIChaEl WElDon AuStrAlIAWith a life‑long love of drawing, Michael Weldon’s illustrations have appeared in numerous magazines including the New yorker and rolling Stones, on several book covers, online in animated games and in a short animated series.

garSon yu uSACollaborating with numerous filmmakers including Steven Spielberg, and ridley and tony Scott, Garson is founder of yu+co, a design company specialising in motion graphics for film and television. Garson is brought to agIdeas in association with the Collie Print trust.

BarT WIlloughBy AuStrAlIABart was the first Aboriginal artist to appear in and write lyrics for a docu‑drama, the first to score a feature film and the first to sign a record deal.

DaVE WarrEn AuStrAlIADave is the founder of international award winning company Warren yachts, the leaders of cutting edge design and technology for luxury yachts in the region. His yachts are always innovative, always beautifully shaped and always a winner.

John MarSDEn AuStrAlIAAuthor of the series tomorrow When the War Began. John Marsden has won many international literary awards and every major writing award in Australia for young people’s fiction. He has sold almost five million copies world‑wide and been translated into fourteen languages.

CharlTon hIll AuStrAlIAAs a major recording artist, Charlton Hill has a passion for sound; writing and recording charting albums and is currently the producer of music for sound design studio Supersonic.
