“Reassessing Recommendations for Aspirin Use in Primary Prevention”
Goal Statement: The goal of this CE presentation is to discuss recent research studies (ASCEND, ARRIVE, ASPREE) on aspirin for primary prevention. Additionally, it will assess the application of these recent studies to clinical practice. Learning Objectives:
• Summarize the key findings of the ASCEND, ARRIVE, and ASPREE trials • Examine the ways in which ASCEND, ARRIVE, and ASPREE are reflected
in current guidelines • Discuss how the results of ASCEND, ARRIVE, and ASPREE impact
recommendations for aspirin use for primary prevention • Apply the key findings of ASCEND, ARRIVE, and ASPREE to patient cases
