On behalf of the Moroccan Association for Medical Physics (AMPM) and the
organizing committee, I am very pleased and honored to welcome you to the First
AAPM-ISEP/FAMPO Diagnostic Imaging Symposium to take place from 26 to 29
March 2016 in Rabat, Morocco.
This Symposium is co-organized by the AMPM in collaboration with the International
Scientific Exchange Program (ISEP) of the American Association of Physicists in
Medicine (AAPM) under the sponsorship and endorsement of the International
Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) as well as the support of the Federation of
African Medical Physics Organizations (FAMPO).
In tandem with this event, the International Atomic Energy Agency is organizing the
RAF6048 Second Project Coordination Meeting. The aim of this combined event is
to enhance knowledge of African medical physicists in the diagnostic imaging field
and to review the progress of the RAF6048 project and update its work plan.
We are honored to host seven distinguished and world-leading medical physicists
and professors members of AAPM and/or IOMP. Thank you so much for
taking time out of your busy schedules and traveling a long way from your home
countries (mainly USA) to attend this symposium.
The theme for this workshop is “Building foundations for an efficient control of the
radiation dose from diagnostic imaging”. We hope that through an enhanced
understanding of the physics associated with the recent technological
advancements in the medical imaging domain, the level of expertise in this field
can be elevated, thus improving the quality of health services and wellness in
Africa.
We are confident that the symposium will be a platform for exchanging and
sharing ideas of the most recent developments in the Physics of Diagnostic
Radiology and that it will have a great impact to your knowledge.
We hope you all will find this symposium informative and enjoyable at the beautiful
city of Rabat..
