Festival of Music Experience 2015

World Teachers’ Day 2015

Late in Term 3, the Angle Vale Primary School Senior Choir performed in their first concert at the Festival Theatre as part of the Public Primary Schools Festival of Music. The theme this year was ‘Remembrance’, commemorating 100 years since the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli, and the presentation did not disappoint. The audience were captivated and touched by the sensitive portrayal of this momentous occasion in Australia’s history, and our students left the Theatre with a sense of pride and achievement earned from nine months of intensive training. These are some of their comments;

“I enjoyed going to the Festival of Music, because we got to sing and watch choreography while singing. I was excited and very anxious on stage but it was AWESOME! It was a great experience to go and I will definitely do it again next year.” Jessica Shuttleworth

“Being in the choir was the best experience of my life. I loved the theatre. I was a bit nervous but I got over it. The songs were great, the people were nice and Lisa is the best choir teacher ever. The most amazing part of the choir was the Festival Theatre. At choir I felt really happy.” Hamish Davis

“The Festival Theatre for choir was Amazing! The lighting and effects were just unbelievable, and the choreography was great. I felt nervous of the big stage and the audience but it soon faded away with excitement. The balloons at the end of the show with the choir people waving with coloured cloth was the best ending ever! It was an awesome experience and I would love to do choir at the Festival Theatre next year.” Amy Poole

“Being in choir was one of the best experiences of my life. When I got on stage at the Festival Theatre I was very nervous but very excited. When the curtains opened all the nervousness disappeared. The songs were amazing. The choreography was excellent. I have more years to go in choir. I hope they go there again next year because it was fun and I think it was an awesome experience.” Krystal Hicks

“I really enjoy doing choir, because I love to sing and dance. Lisa is a wonderful choir teacher and a wonderful person. I’ve heard awesome comments about the choir show. The lights, solos and troupe dancers were magnificent. I think the show was awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a concert that amazing! I know I will be in it again.” Kaitlyn Dowden

I am so immensely proud of our wonderful choir students that sang in this year’s concert, and I look forward to working with them again in the years to come. Well done to you all! Lisa Williamson

On Friday 30 October we celebrate World Teachers’ Day.

This day is a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful

contribution that teachers make to the lives of our children and

young people.
