FDP101x Foundation Program in ICT for Education
(Dipti Sakhare)
WEEK ONE:
Moving from physical classroom to online classrooms
Video 1: teacher-facilitator
Date: 03/08/2017:
The important elements of in any course delivery are: Teacher, student and the course content.
When these elements are viewed through the different scenarios vide physical or online the
impact of the overall teaching learning process can be different.
In physical class room the role of the instructor is of a teacher while in online class room the
teacher turns into facilitator while the students are known as learner in both scenarios. Instead of
having the face to face interaction the teacher facilitates the course deliver through the course
material, discussion forums, and online assessment. Hence the role gets transformed to
facilitator.
In a physical classroom the teaching learning process takes place through following types of
interactions:
● Teacher-Learner interaction
● Learner-Learner interaction: involves student’s interaction with peers
● Teacher-Content interaction: text books are used by teacher
● Learner- Content interaction: reference of course material and text book by students.

Pedagogical features of online class room
In a physical classroom, the teacher delivers a lecture. This task is carried out by a video, in the
online classroom. There are several advantage of using a video for learning:
1. It can be watched anywhere any time provided one should have a good quality internet.
2. Important contents can be highlighted.
3. If required, at certain point the video can be stopped and replayed.
4. It can come with transcripts.
Video 3: Learn by Doing (LbDs)
To check out the conceptual grasping of the contents, the best way is ask the short questions on
the topic immediately after you cover content. The same thing can be adopted in online class by
putting immediately the quiz after the video.
With this, every student’s gets an equal opportunity to answer as well as he/she can gets the
immediate feedback on the same. The misconception about the topic gets cleared immediately.
To facilitate the deep learning, various web links, eBooks also can be shared with the students.
Video 4: Learning experience interactions (LxTs)
In a physical class room, the student’s learning experience can be shared with others through
various short questions or discussions. In online learning, the reflection quiz can be used to
observe the Learning experience.
Video5- Learning Experience Interactions (LxIs)
Discussion is more framed, With this in a structured manner the lerner/facilitator can cover all
aspects of the concept. [Type text]FDP 101x dipti sakhare by Dipti Sakhare is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Based on a work at https://wordpress.com/page/diptisakhareapplieddigitalcircuits.wordpress.com/116.
With a tool like reflection quiz the discussion can be well reflected. Focused discussion followed
by a graded reflection quiz. The grading policy ensures that the participants have gone through
all the available discussions.
Video 7 – A course jouranal:
Course journal is a procedural record of the process.
Steps in creating a course journal:
i) Selection of an platform vid.WORD,PPT etc
ii) Outline the frame work in a day wise manner
WEEK TWO:
1.Self Exploration Researches:
Here, from the demo of sir GeoffreyChallen's the concept of internet and its usages got clear.
2. The world of Internet
Internet connections: Wireless and wired network.
The concept of IP address
With the Webowser one is able is to access the websites and contents. Some add ons are
used for adding extra features.
The above mentioned points are discussed in this module.
3. Use of Digital webpages
Two types of portfolios were discussed
1. Teacher's portfolio for course and research
2. Course portfolio for course content, quiz and assignment [Type text]FDP 101x dipti sakhare by Dipti Sakhare is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. The dashboards of wpadmin and admin are used for: naming, tagging, logo, colour background
selection and text widgets
LeD2.3: Adding the basic content to the website:
Blog: It is called as weblog, It is a digital diary
Web page arrangement and creation: The web page contains the text, images, videos
Creating a blog
o Blog has title and text
o Title we can change later
Use of tags
Any one can comment blog
LeD2.4: Managing the content in the website:
How to create, edit and manage the content in the form of blogs, pages, media etc are discussed
in this LeD.
“Control Panel” helps us to carry out this task:
Site URL->mysite->wpadmin or wordpress dashboard- >posts->links -
>media ->pages

LeD2.5: Advanced customization of the content:
From media library(where wordpress stores all the files which are uploaded) window we
can add a pdf or ppt or other media to our pages through by selecting or drag n drop.
mysite->wpadmin-> click some where in the dash board → media library will be opened.
At the backend we are attaching these files to the pages. Users are able to see in
“menu”.
Menu shows the path of navigation from homepage to various other pages.
To do this go to dashboard control panel ->appearance->menu
To include research / publication select add to menu.
admin dashboard ->appearance-> themes; helps in configuring the look of site.
WEEK THREE:
MOODLE is one of the online learning management system platform. We have used the gnomio
moodle platform to create our own course in moodle.

In this way we can create various activities like quizzes, assignments, discussions etc on moodle.
There were two focus points/questions in this module:
Q1: Can you identify the pedagogic feature that has been used in the animation video
on Forum Etiquettes?
One beautiful feature in the animation video on Forum Etiquettes is ‘refelction spot’
Q2: What is one new thing that you learnt about discussion forum etiquettes?
Answer:
1. Discussion should be formal i.e topic specific
2. Any irrelevant data should not be posted
In our college (MITAOE,Alandi) we are using moodle as an online teaching learning platform
since last year.
In the Video: Exploring Course Settings Inside Moodle following things are explained very well.
In the editing sections following thins are facilitated:
Adding information information to this section
Adding activities or resourses
Hiding some information for later use
How to change the section name
How to place a particular course in a category

Formatting buttons like bold, size, underline, subscript or superscript etc.
From mathematical point of view Equations can be added with the help of using an
equation editor and also add in special symbols.
Any other announcements can be added in this section.
Video: Adding Resources in Moodle
LbD 3.3S tep 1How to login in the moodle course as a teacher is explained here. Then select
"New Staff Induction". By turning on the Editing, the things like course journal can be created
and assignments can be added in that. The assignments can be graded as well as access to these
assignments can be restricted by putting the dates.
Video: Discussion Forums in Moodle
Discussion forums can be created in moodle and the experiences of various users can be shared
here.
Quizzes also can be Created in MOODLE
Learning extension resource :
A video series of lectures explaining about various parts of MOODLE is given in a MOOC titled
"Learn Moodle MOOC 2015" that was offered in 2015.

A. The activities such as like brainstorming, discussion, analysis and organization of the
contents can be done in planning
B. In execution the specific flow of the entire presentation with the insertion of bullets, graphics
etc.
C. Colour schems, fonts, themes play a vital role in impression.
WEEK FOUR:
Creating your own video resources
Creation of own video resources was point of focus wherein we have learnt the beautiful concept
of screen casting or screen recording. The use KAZAM by iitb for creation of learning dialogues
was well explained by Prof.Moudgalya.
Resource Creation in various Local Languages:
As a part of this module we have created our own screen casting video about creation of websites
using word press.
Focus Question:
1. What all guidelines did you follow while creating your own screencast?
We have used screen ‘cast o matic’, before creating the actual record, we got well versed with
the website creation and once we had well hands on then only we did the screen cast.
2. What were the challenges that you faced while creating the screencast?
Ans. As such the process is very interesting, no major challenged are there.
During the Learning Extension Resourses of this module Prof. Richard Mayer explained that
the narration and graphics play avital role in explanation of concept.
Video 2: Interview of Prof. Richard Mayer, chief contributor of multimedia principles.
In higher education sitting, the presentation should be developed well, instead it being complex it
should be as simple as that.[Type text]FDP 101x dipti sakhare by Dipti Sakhare is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Based on a work at https://wordpress.com/page/diptisakhareapplieddigitalcircuits.wordpress.com/116.
The graphics should be followed by its textual explanation in its nearby space.
When a teacher uses a multimedia presentation, he should be well versed with the instructional
design.
To increase the multimedia teaching, the teacher should have a sound, specific knowledge of the
domain and technology.
WEEK FIVE:
Whatever is learnt during the last four week was applied in this week that way it was a purly
apply and experience feel. We have created the MOODLE course using gnomio moodle. Any
one acces the moodle course at this site: https://diptisakhare.gnomio.com/ using the following
credentials :
Username: student_test1
Password: Test@student1
Similarly, we have created a page named ad FDP101x and we have uploaded our course journal
on this page. The concept like creative common was well versed in this module.
