Distance Learners can request our books for postal delivery

In order to do this, you must first register as a Distance Learner by completing this form. The form can be found on the webpage below.

Access the Library CataloguemyUniHub > My Study > My Library > Library Catalogue

Select ‘Library Catalogue’ from the list of resources

Log in to MyUniHub

Use the Library Catalogue to find the book you want

Select the book you want from the search results….

You may need to scroll down the screen until you find the right book.

….by clicking on the title

In order to request a book.....

.....Click on ‘Request item’

Follow the prompts…

….enter your student number (Borrower ID) eg. M00001234, followed by your date of birth (PIN) like this dd/mm/yy eg. 121087…

…and then click on ‘Login’ to continue

Continue to follow the prompts……as a distance learner, your default option will be ‘Distance Learner’. This means that the book will be posted to your home address....

.....having opted for postal delivery of the book ie. selected ‘Distance learner’ from the drop-down menu, it is useful if you can enter the first line of your postal address here....

.....when you are ready click on ‘Request’ to continue

Finally.....

You can either ‘logout ‘or ‘return to searching’.

You should see this message if your request has been successful

If you select ‘Return to searching’ you will remain logged in. This is useful if you think you might want to request more books.

This number indicates where you are in the queue for this book. There is only one request on this book for example.

The book(s) will be posted to your home address

• The book will be issued to you for the duration of its loan period ie. 7days, 14 days or 28 days plus an additional 10 working days to allow for delivery and return

• It is possible to renew the book up to 20 times. See this guide to find out how to renew your books http://www.slideshare.net/EISLibrarian/library-catalogue-using-my-account

• If you are unable to renew your books, please contact  UniHelp Online http://unihub.mdx.ac.uk/support/unihelp/index.aspx or telephone  020 8411 6060 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm UK, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 9pm UK)

• There is no cost for this service, but you are responsible for posting the book back to the Library. More information will be included when the book is posted to you.

If you need to cancel your request…

…go to the Library Catalogue and click on ‘Library Account/Renewals’

Login in using your student number and date of birth (as before). Click ‘Login’ when you are ready.

You are now in your Library Account

Click on ‘Requests’

Select the request you want to cancel and click on ‘Cancel request’

Your book request is now cancelled.
