Boo! This is the month of
pranks, scary movies, and
lots of candy! Have you
ever thought of making this
month worth more than
that? October can be the
month where you take
caring into action. Trick-or-
Treat for UNICEF is a great
example of what you can
do. Instead of asking for
candy, you can just ask for
money (more info on page
for 5).
There are many
events going on in Division
12 this month. Rally is on the
first and I hope to see you
there! Also, there is a Breast
Cancer Walk in Lake
Charles and Millennium
Park will start being rebuilt

Trick-or-Treat for Cans

treating for candy, have them ask for
donations or canned goods. Deliver the
“treats” to a food pantry or homeless
shelter.
Decorate Pumpkins
Decorate pumpkins for Halloween and
distribute them to nursing homes.
Sponsor a Nursing Home Party
Work with a nursing home to host a
party. Contact a nursing home to see

Secret Teachers
Assign each member to a teacher. The
Key Club members can surprise “their”
teacher with little gifts throughout the
year.
School Bleachers
Paint and stencil numbers for school
bleachers. Finish off the stands, making
sure you are well within the
specifications set by the fire marshall.

Trick-or-Treat!
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
has been around for 60
years. Kids, teens, and
adults dress up for
halloween and instead of
asking for candy, they ask
for money. This money is
donated to UNICEF. This
money helps UNICEF to
provide nutrition,
medicine, education and
the things kids need to
thrive.
Every Club will receive a fundraising
kit right after Labor Day that
includes Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
collection boxes, a campaign kit
and poster, a DVD, and more
resources to help you
conduct your campaign.
If you need an additional
supply of boxes, call 1.800.KIWANIS,
ext 411.
How to Participate
This year, the money
raised for UNICEF will
