It’s that time of the year to be jolly
and helpful! Christmas is such an
amazing holiday to do service and
to be surrounded by friends and
family. This year you can help out
by donating clothes or toys for the
Salvation Army or Toys for Tots. You
can help out at your local soup
kitchen or visit your Kiwanis and see
what they are up to this season!
This is absolutely my favorite
holiday of the year because it is the
perfect time to spent time with
family and friends and to give back
to the community! I love giving gifts
out and seeing the joy and holiday
spirit in everyone. Christmas is such

The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again
through the joy of caring and sharing. The traditional red
kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions
of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors,
and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season.
Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for
families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic
necessities, along with seasonal aid. Families of prisoners
often are included. You can distribute
gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing
homes, and shelters are open for
sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army
endeavors to bring spiritual light and love
to those it serves at Christmas so that
the real meaning of the season is
not forgotten.

and help a family in need for the
holidays!

Christmas is the perfect time to do
some service projects! Give back to
your community by going to a local
soup kitchen or senior home and help
out by providing dinner or singing
carols for the elderly. You can also
provide toys for children at your local
Toys for Tots or help out with the “Angel
Tree” project for the Salvation Army.
Your Key Club can do so much this
season, so gather your members and
spread the jolly service around!
Salvation Army
Toys for Tots is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve
program that collects new unwrapped toys
for children during Christmas. Their mission is
to collect new, unwrapped toys during
October, November and December each
year, and distribute those toys as Christmas
gifts to needy children in the community in
which the campaign is conducted. They
deliver a message of hope to less fortunate
youngsters that will
assist them in
becoming responsible,
productive, patriotic
citizens.
You can help Toys for
Tots by donating a
new toy and give it
to a local Toys for Tots
in your local area.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
project is where they gather
toys and gifts for children and
seniors to have a happy
Christmas holiday. You can
find an Angel tree station at
one of these locations: Wal-
mart, JCPenny, Edgewater
Mall, or apply online at
http://angel.jcpenney.com.
You can adopt an angel at
one of these places or online
and you will receive a list of
what this angel wants for
his/her Christmas. Once you
have your angel’s gift, you
can drop it off at a Salvation
Army location. Make
someone’s Christmas special
by providing them a gift they
will never forget.

A Christmas Bash! Talent Showcase!
Do you think your Key Club has talent? Do you think they have what it takes to take their talent at District Convention? Well now you have a chance to show their skills at our Christmas Bash’ Talent Showcase! If you or any Key Clubber you know would like to participate in this talent showcase, please contact me with their name, talent, and contact information. Talent can range from dancing, singing, comedy, acting, or whatever you like to present as long as it’s family appropriate. Each participant will receive a prize and have a chance to audition at District Convention! Please sign up soon and hope to see some amazing talents at this Christmas Bash.
What happened at Key Leader? Division 14 definitely represented at this year’s Key Leader. Sergio Gaskin (PHS), Hannah Yose (PHS), Holley Cunningham (RSH), Caitlyn Painter (WHS), May Ly (GHS), and I attended this outgoing event and gain new friends and learned more about being a leader. We also got to meet the District Kiwanis Governor Mrs. Linda Ramsey and had an inspiring Key Note Speaker Mr. Dennis. Through the ropes courses and intense sessions, everyone showed such fantastic leadership qualities and they were the shining stars at Key Leader. I am so proud of you all, and this year’s Key Leader was the best I ever had thanks to these amazing leaders.

Also start getting elections ready for your Key Clubbers and inform them about New Officers Training which is in March 18-19 in Baton Rouge this year. The year’s almost over, but that doesn’t
mean we can’t stop doing service! New
Year is around the corner and you want to
make sure that your Key Club is active
and going. Remember when there use to
be a bunch of Key Club members at your
first meeting? Are your meetings losing
more members now? Well you can
definitely fix that by showing your Key
Clubbers how much fun it is to be in Key
Club! Invite them to our Interclub event
and inform them about DCON! Show
them how much fun it is to be a Key
Clubber and also show them how good it
feels to do service. Keep your Key Clubs
up to date and active so we can end the
year off with a blast!
Start preparing for
NOT and DCON!
