Why do we need an IEEE-SA web account?

• To record attendance to an authenticated individual (IMAT)

• To determine who can vote on ePolls

• To authenticate the person getting document numbers and uploading documents

• To record indicated interest in joining a sponsor ballot pool

What is the IEEE web account?

• The account associates an individual with the various roles that individual plays in 802.11 (voter, officer).

• The account is actually split into two halves, managed by different organizations within IEEE. The IEEE web account stores your primary email address and authentication data. The IEEE-SA web account stores your membership status in 802.11, and your attendances.

• The IEEE-SA account is uniquely identified by an “SA pin” number. You can see this when you log on.

• You only ever need one IEEE-SA web account, regardless of changes in name, position, employment or email address.

I’ll say it again

•You need only One account. Ever. Period.

• If you have more, you’re doing something wrong. (Some people have 5).

• Having multiple accounts make it difficult go ensure you get voting tokens on your badges, and makes it very easy for your attendance or voting credit to go to the “wrong version of you”.
