BRISTOL 2017 THAMES VALLEY & WESSEX NEONATAL CRANIAL ULTRASOUND COURSE Venue: Bristol & Bath Science Park, (near M4/M32) Dirac Crescent, Emersons Green Bristol, BS16 7FR Thursday 16 th November and Friday 17 th November 2017 RCPCH has approved this activity for CPD in accordance with the current RCPCH CPD Guidelines This two-day course is aimed at paediatric trainees, paediatric consultants, clinical fellows and specialist associates. It will provide the essential skills to perform and interpret neonatal cranial ultrasound on the neonatal unit. The course will cover: The use of the ultrasound machine, normal cerebral anatomy, standard and supplemental views Normal and abnormal brain development Preterm brain lesions Structured imaging approach in management of neonatal seizure, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, perinatal stroke and posthaemorrhagic hydrocephalus. Central nervous system infections Diagnosis – Prognosis: How to tell the parents ? Lectures by local and invited speakers will be complemented with practical workshops.
