Question 6- What have you learnt about technology's from the process of constructing this product?

When taking the image of Ceasefire Ink for my music magazines double page spread I used a DSLR camera like I did for my front cover and contents page. And as mentioned I found the camera easy to control and use efficiently as I had practice when taking the images for my college magazine. When it came to taking my image I decided that I wanted It to be at night time so that the background in the image was dark and the main focus was on the four band members. This was also because the colours associated with the genre pop punk are dark therefore I didn’t want a bright colorful background. During my research on real media products I noticed that the subjects shown in real media product double page spreads were dressed in clothes which matched the colour scheme, therefore I asked the band to wear clothes which were black, red and green. And as shown in my finished product it pulled everything together and added attitude and confident to the image.

This was my first time making a double page spread so at first I was nervous incase it turned out wrong and i struggled to use the tools as I hadn't had any practice. Therefore to begin with when creating my double page spread I started by adding my image as I wanted to map out where I was going to put my text. This was the easiest and quickest step as it took only one tool and I didn’t have to worry about lining the images up like I did with my contents page.

The second step was to add my headline which reads 'From nothing to everything' which I decided on as I felt it was powerful and would leave a strong message to the audience. I changed the font to one which I felt was unique and conveyed the genre pop punk as I wanted it to overall stand out and be bold. This was once again a easy step to follow as I had learnt how to use the text box and find different fonts during my preliminary task.

The third step to completing my double page spread was adding a byline which is positioned underneath my headline. When writing

my byline I ensured that it was interesting and would persuade people to continue reading my article, but I kept it extremely vague and short as Its job is to tease the audience and not give away the entire article. Just like all the other steps involving the text box it was simple and easy to complete as not much work has to be put

into it.

The final step to creating my double page spread was adding the article into the columns, and as shown above the article took up 3 columns. I kept the article informal as my target audience is teenagers and young adults therefore I didn't want to make it complex as my target audience wouldn’t be interested in reading. In the middle I added a pull quote from the article as it’s a code and convention which real media products follow as it breaks the article up. I changed the colour of the font to green to match my colour scheme and to make it stand out against the rest of the text so that the audience know to read it first.
