A round of Applause 2012 Mary Amoson Pretend to open a piece of Bubblegum and put it in your mouth.Start chewing as you wiggle your head from side to side.Place your palms by your mouth and extend as you slowly blow. One, two, three, four, POP! Bubble Gum 2012 Mary Amoson Put one finger in the air and circle it like a lasso as you say, "Ye-haw!" Cowboy 2012 Mary Amoson First, the girls stand on one leg and pretend to bray like a donkey as they say, Hee haw! Hee haw! HE always does a good job. The boys then stand on one leg and say, She haw! She haw! SHE always does a good job. Donkey 2012 Mary Amoson Turn up your collar; get out your microphone. Then swing the microphone around in circles, curl your lip like Elvis and say together, Thank you, thank you very much. Elvis 2012 Mary Amoson Hold your palms together in front of you as if praying. Make a sizzling sound (Ssssss) as you wiggle your palms up in the air like a firecracker going off. Clap them above your head, then wiggle your fingers around and down like the sparkles coming from a firecracker. Make an Ahhhhh sound like a crowd watching a firecracker go off. Firecracker 2012 Mary Amoson To compliment a child say, You are . . . (make a clicking noise as you make a pretend mirror around your face and fluff your hair),. . . lookin good! Lookin Good 2012 Mary Amoson Pretend to make a hamburger patty by patting your palms together. Stick out your right hand as if placing a hamburger on a skillet. Make a sizzling sound and say, Is it done? Turn your hand over and say, Not yet. Repeat twice. After the third Is it done, give a thumbs-up and say, Well done! Hamburger 2012 Mary Amoson Pretend to hold an ice cream cone in one hand and lick it. Ice Cream 2012 Mary Amoson While sitting on down, curl up with hands around legs and jump or jiggle like a jelly bean, saying J, J, J each time. Jumping Jelly Bean 2012 Mary Amoson When children answers clever, correct, orcreative say, "Kiss your brain" by kissing your fingertips and touch your head. Kiss Your Brain 2012 Mary Amoson Teacher says, Tootsie Roll. Stick out your tongue and pretend to lick a sucker as you say, Lollipop. Hold up both hands, open and close your fingers like your hands are talking and say, Weve been talking now lets stop. As you say stop, make a motion like youre cutting off music. Oreo 2012 Mary Amoson Put your hands in your armpits to make theparrot's wings. Flap your wings up and down as you squawk and say, "Aaaaak! You did a good job!"Parrott 2012 Mary Amoson Tell the children they can jump around, wave their hands in the air, and make as much noise as they want - as long as you can't hear them! Quiet Cheer 2012 Mary Amoson Start by going up the hill with hands in front, making the ch, ch, ch sound. Make three hills with your hands going up and down saying Whoa.Finish with hands up wiggling. I made these cheer cards with Dr. Jeans knowledge and permission.I like to teach a new cheer a week, each related to the letter we are learning. Since everyone uses different letter orders, I thought creating an alphabet, cards, and a poster would be the best. Best wishes on a GREAT teaching year!
