Social Media

• Facebook – 26 million UK users.

• More traffic to social media than search web sites.

• 40% of UK retailers have a social media presence.

• Almost a quarter of all time spent online on social media sites.

Mobile Commerce

• 41% of UK retailers plan to have a transactional mobile site or app in place within the next year.

• 59% of retailers expect their mobile revenues to increase over the next 12 months.

• 51% of consumers across 11 countries used their mobiles over the festive period last year for in-store activities. (Motorola)

• 10% of Britons will shop via mobile devices for Christmas gifts this year. (Tesco)

Christmas 2010

• Mega Monday (6 December) peak online shopping day.

• Britons will spend an estimated £0.5bn on 5th and 6th December.

• Busiest hour will be between 12pm and 1pm on Mega Monday.

• £23.2 million will be spent in one hour.

• During the busiest minute almost £1m will be spent.

• Total spend during November & December will reach £12.4 bn.
