The SPACIOUSNESS of DEEP prayer

readies our heartsfor the in-breaking of

the reign of Love which is, in fact, AN EVOLVING consciousness.

hey say “it takes a village,” but it also takes a dream and a vision to ignite possibilities. The House of Yahweh (Lawndale, CA) has been that dream come true under the direction of its founder, Sister Michele Marie Morris, CSJ who for 35 years, brought to the House of Yahweh the charism of our Congregation.

The House has long been a resource for the benefit of the poor and marginalized. And while it will continue its services, Sister Michele has retired as of June 30th.

Last Sunday, Sister Michele was honored by her co-workers, family and friends. Along with a delightful barbecue, presentations were made and gratitude was shown. Many hugs were given!

“Unity and reconciliation” will live on through the vital work that Sister Michele established. During 2016 alone, 4,200 people received lodging and weekly, 1,300 people received food.

CBC has been serving organic, healthy and locally grown food to the homeless and hungry in the neighborhoods of Venice Beach, CA every week since 2014. They partner with local food merchants and friends like the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. To learn more about the organization please visit www.creatingbettercommunities.org v
