Customer Portal Licence applicants willhave a single web portal for examinationsand licensing. They can easily determinelicence eligibility through the unique “Am IReady” check that evaluates the licenceapplication against the NAA regulatoryrequirements. A licence application cannotbe submitted until all requirements arecompleted. Workflows are used to managethe application process.

Administration Portal NAA Administrationstaff can review licensing information,address customer queries, assist withapplications and process payment.

Organisation Portal Registeredorganisations can check and apply for alicence on behalf of applicants who aremembers of the organisations.

Licensing Portal NAA Licensing staff cancompletely manage applications usingworkflows configured for each licence type(e.g. PPL, CPL, ATPL, AME).

Collaborative Partnership E-Licensing

The partnership between CAAi and ASPEQhas been formed to combine the CAAi andUK CAA’s capability and technicalcompetence with ASPEQ’s technologysolutions for electronic licensing andelectronic examinations. Both organisationsare experienced in the development andmanagement of licensing systems and canoffer tailored services to meet the localvariations required by a National AviationAuthority (NAA).

CAAi and ASPEQ work collaboratively toachieve our key objectives in e-licensing:

• The development, setup and ongoingsupport of an e-licensing system for NAALicensing requirements.

• To improve licensing standards bymodernising the licence applicationprocess and use of automatedworkflows, including rules engine, tocontrol each stage of the approvalprocess.

• To improve the applicant experience bymaking it easier to determine if they areready to apply for their licence.

• Enhanced security by allowing allinformation to be stored electronicallyand tracking all access to the information.

• To improve the stakeholder service anduser benefits that enhance the NAA’sreputation in the field of licensing andexaminations.

• Improved quality and integrity of licenceinformation thereby enabling NAAs topromote National pilot and aircraftmaintenance licensing standards.

• To provide enhanced oversight control oflicensing applications, especially througha high quality reporting function.

• Revised business processes thatincrease efficiency by placing theresponsibility on the applicant to providethe correct licensing information beforethe application can be submitted for NAAprocessing and approval.

• Structured automated workflows for alllicence types that ensure NAAapplication processes are controlled and complied with.

• Auditing capability to ensure licenceapplications fully comply with theregulatory requirements.

• Performance monitoring of theapplication process, with visual progressresults presented on a licensingdashboard.

• Secure electronic storage of all licensingrecords to improve NAA access toinformation by approved staff.

• Complete traceability of all electronicrecords and their access by NAA staff.

• Lower costs from more efficient licenceprocessing and the removal of paper filestorage.

• To implement a high quality, costeffective, sustainable – and affordable –licensing solution.
