Earth Interior
Earth Interior is a part of the earth beneath the crust
Lithosphere is the outer part of the earth
Hydrosphere is the waters of the earth’s surface
Atmosphere is mass of air surrounding the earth
Layers
Oceanic Crust is land underneath the ocean
Continental Crust is rocky outer layer of Earth
Mantle is thick layer and is made up of melted rock
Outer Core is 2,250 km thick and is completely liquid
Inner Core is solid and is made up of nickel and iron
Summary
There are three major types of the earth interior types: atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere.
Earth is divided in different parts called layers. Outer layer of the earth has continental and oceanic layers. Underneath these crusts there’s a mantle, liquid magma. Underneath the mantle there’s a outer core, total liquid. Mantle and outer core are both liquid but they never mix. And last deepest layer is inner core and is solid made of metal.
Questions
What are the layers of earth interior?
Where are the layers located?
Continental Drift
Continental Drift is a theory that all the continents had formed one landmass before breaking apart and drifting to their present locations.
This landmass was called Pangea. The theory
was brought by Alfred Wegener in 1915.
