An Introduction to Global Education Center

ECNU Global Education Center (GEC, also known as the International Students Office, ISO) deals with the recruitment, enrollment, on-campus management and the overall life-study related issues of all international students. Following the development plans of international students in the university, the main responsibilities of GEC include formulating management policies for international students, organizing job training for management staff, coordinating among different sections within the offices and with sections out of the GEC. It also provides a comprehensive service to agencies in the International Education Park of ECNU. GEC / ISO is composed of three departments: Admission and Management Office, Comprehensive Affairs Office, and Teaching Affairs Office.

ECNU is equipped with clinical services:The school clinic can only provide basic medical services for students. If you have a more serious and complicated illness, don’t hesitate to go to the Sixth People's Hospital or Huashan Hospital, both are near the school.

To help international students better integrate into life and study in ECNU, the ISU(International Students Union) was founded in 2009 under the instruction of the ISO. The ISU consist of international students from all across the world, who are with various interests and hobbies. ISU members aim at improving international students' academic skills and enriching their extracurricular social and cultural activities. As a non-profit, non-partisan and independent-operated organization, ISU was founded based on the independent election by international students. Currently it has 30 members and 4 departments, namely Association Department, Activity Department, Publicity Department and Study Department.Under ISU there are a number of student associations, leading by international students who volunteer to offer serve other international students.
