BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve Mr. Carl Michel and multiple speakers, educators, organizers 
and community activists to provide motivational speeches related to antibullying prevention, 5 
major  keys  to  success  presentation  (bullying,  academic  excellence,  achieving  goals)  youth 
empowerment  show  (celebrity  guest panel) during  the week  of  respect during  the  20192020 
school year at the Hart Complex at a cost of $5,000.

BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve Healy Middle  Schools Climate & Culture Team, Larisha 
DeJesus, Abina Gibson and Patrick Trentacost, to work five (5) days in August setting up systems 
and activities for Climate & Culture, Parent Involvement and meeting the Social/Emotional needs 
of Healys students at a total cost to the district of $1,996. 
  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the purchase of zSpace Technology which combines elements of augmented and virtual reality to create lifelike learning experiences for students that are immersive and interactive. These experiences assist in the development of 21st Century skills and Career and Technical Education, which includes but is not limited to asking questions, gathering information, developing models, testing ideas, analyzing data, developing conclusions with an effective application of technology at a cost to the District of $117,031. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve an afterschool program “Strengthening Families of Essex” on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-7pm beginning September 2019 and ending June 2020 at no cost to the district.
j. Bring A Family Member to Preschool Day – (Ms. Lofton-Simpson/Ms. Aquil)
BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve Bring A Family Member to Preschool Event to be held at all district elementary schools that have at least one (1) preschool classroom, and at all contracted community providers and Head Start sites on 10/17/19 from 8-11am for a cost not to exceed $6,749.75.

BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the proposal from Teaching Strategies (TS) for the professional development and training to preschool teachers, teacher assistants and early childhood staff for TS GOLD online, a performance-based assessment tool for preschool classrooms for the 2019-2020 SY for one session on 9/3/19 at a total cost that will not exceed $16,500. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the contract between the EOSD and the Essex Regional Educational Services Commission for the provision of Public School Home Instruction Services to students within the district at a cost of $52 per hour for each instructor during the 2019-2020 school year.

BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the continuation of the license agreement with the Public Consultant Group, Inc. for access to EasyIEP program services. Services will be provided to the district at the annual cost of $26,780.

BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the collaboration between the EOBOE, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) and Spectrum Works to provide pre-employment transition services (Pre-Ets) to classified students on the high school level at no cost to the district.

o. Onsite Smiles: A Mobile Dental Program – (Dr. Harvest/Mrs. Santos)
BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the OnSite Smiles Dental Group to provide oral hygiene services to students attending EOSD schools at no cost to the district or parents. School visits will take place between 9/23/19 and 1/30/20.
p. Planning for Adult Life – Making Action Plans for Life (MAPs) – (Dr. Harvest/Mrs. Santos)
BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the agreement between the EOBOE and the ARC of NJ to host the Planning for Adult Life – Making Action Plans for Life Program (MAPs) during the 2019-2020 school year. The program will service classified students at Tyson M/H School, Campus HS and STEM Academy. The program will be provided at no cost to the district.
q. Review and Approval of School Self-Assessment Ratings to Determine Grades Under the Anti-
Bullying Bill of Rights Act – (Dr. Harvest)
BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the submission of the school self-assessment ratings of each school to the NJDOE on or before October 31, 2019 at no cost to the district.
r. Summer Employment – Mr. Lawrence Bender, Safety, Culture & Climate Specialist – (Dr. West)
BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approve the hiring of Mr. Lawrence Bender, our Safety, Culture & Climate Specialist, for summer employment to work on school safety & security update walk throughs with Mr. Hakim Sims, the district’s new security supervisor for no more than 4 days (7 hours a day) at a cost not to exceed $930.16.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, directs administration to obtain a purchase order and have it provided to the vendor/consultant prior to receiving any goods or services from said vendor/consultant. s. Fiscal Year 2020 “Every Student Succeeds Act” Consolidated Application – (Dr. Harvest/Ms.
Champagne) BE IT RESOLVED: that the East Orange Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Schools, approve the submission of and the acceptance upon subsequent approval of the Fiscal Year 2020 Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Consolidated Application in the amount of $6,487,333. The project period is July 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
