All clubs were weakened by enlist-ments in the fighting services. NorthShore could only field a First Gradeside, resulting in the bye team in theReserves playing the bye team in theMetropolitan Association (all age) fornon-competition points.
Matches were played on Saturdays atErskineville Oval, Trumper Park andS.C.G. No. 2. Admission six pence, withsix pence extra to grandstand.
Highlight of the season was the matchN.S.W. v Victoria at the S.C.G. on May24th, preceded by R.A.A.F. v N.S.W.Seconds and Railway Juniors v New-town Juniors. The nett proceedsamounting to $500 were donated to theLord Mayor's Patriotic and War Funds.

There's nothing more enjoyable than a nice coolbeer after a day's work. But how can you enjoy it,if you're trying to watch your weight?
What can you do? You can forsake your beer,or you can try our alternative.High-Lo Lager.
It's just the same as other beer, except it doesn'tweigh you down as much. Because it's not as heavy.
So next time you feel like a beer, instead ofworrying about your waistline, try a High-Lo Lager.
After all, the things you've got to lose you'llnever miss anyway.. , fl
