Community Service Ladies, you are FABULOUS! In 2012, our guild donated 109 quilts and 20 banners/table runners/napkins to ChildServe and 85 quilts to the Des Moines Fire Department. Compare that to the 133 quilts donated in 2011.
You exceeded our expectations! The winners of the Community Service Gift Baskets were Jean Redman, Bert Warrick, and Diana Anderson. Congratulations! A BIG THANK YOU goes to Linda Smith for her excellent shopping abilities through-out the year to fill the Community Service Gift Baskets. The total value of the baskets was $569. Linda only spent $201. The consensus at the December Guild Meeting was to do it again in 2013 - so we are! For every quilt/item donated in 2013, please remember to sign your name on the Community Service Board. At the end of the year, the names will go into a drawing for the gift basket (s) or some other special gift. With all that being said, we need to select an organization or two for our Community Ser-vice Project for 2013. If you have an organization in mind, please contact Marsha Horner 515-979-7218 or Pat Felderman 515-266-9839. We would like to have all suggestions submitted by the end of January so a decision can be made in February.
Paper Shower We are having a Paper Product Shower for Lutheran Church of the Cross. The following items are needed: Paper Towels Napkins Kleenex Paper Cups Paper Plates Copy Paper Please bring your donations to the next Guild Meeting.
Thank you in advance!
February Fabric Valentine Exchange
Hope you have been working on your fabric valentine for the ex-change at the February guild meeting. Only those who bring a valentine will be able to draw from the box to receive one. Please remember to sign your fabric “card” and deposit it in the box when you enter the meeting. This should be a lot of fun and a chance to see how creative some of our members are!
