Case Competition
World Asian Case Competition (WACC) is a highly
influential competition organized by the Academy of
Asian Business. It required participants to write up
and present an Asian business case on how it became
successful. About 60 teams from top universities in
the U.S., Europe and Asia participated in the WACC.
On 12 August 2017, our student Kelly Chin and her
teammates won the Silver Medal Award in WACC in
Seoul, Korea. The team advisor, Prof. Yifan Zhang,
Associate Professor of our department, received
“Best Advisor Award”.
Internship
• We encourage our students to do internships and part-time jobs in order to gain more hands-on experience.
Our office has a dedicated career officer to provide advice on CV writing and job interview practice.
• The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade
Development Council (HKTDC) offer summer internship programmes exclusively to our own students.

Our graduates keep in touch with their dear friends and classmates through the CUHK Economics Alumni
Association. The Association connects the different generations of CUHK Economics alumni, and it is a great
place for networking.
Mentorship programmeThe Alumni Association invites many of our successful alumni to provide guidance on life long skills to our
undergraduate students, such as Mr. Billy Cheung (Financial Analyst of Bank of China), Ms. Natalie Tsui
(Vice President of BNP Paribas Hong Kong), etc. Through this mentorship programme, students

(i) 2 new senior secondary elective subjects; or

Non-JUPAS• For students not applying based on their HKDSE performance, we consider most major international
qualifications (eg. GCE, IB, SAT, ACT, AP, ATAR, OSSD/ BC diploma, GSAT/AST, etc.) and qualifications in
Hong Kong (e.g. Associate Degree and Higher Diploma).
• Applicants must meet the CUHK language requirements. We carefully review each application on a case-by-
case basis.
• For mainland students with Gao Kao results, they should apply through the National Colleges and Universities
Enrolment System.
