Educator Licensing Online (ELO)

• 2014 implementation was challenging year• Many improvements for 2015

— Separated renewal by credits and by PDP— TEPDL staff have more options when processing— Clearer instructions with videos

• What can educators do to prepare?— Get WAMS ID and onboard into ELO— Get copies of transcripts or submit PDP— Follow the directions

• Key is “instruction” vs. “support”• Instruction must be provided by a properly

licensed teacher• Support can be provided by any licensed

Governor’s Licensing Proposal

• Requirements for a 3-year license:— bachelor’s degree.— pass subject-area competency exam approved by DPI— have relevant experience in the subject as determined

by DPI

• Grades 6-12 only• Otherwise similar to Charter School

Teacher License passed last year
