SPORTS DEPARTMENT

Congratulations to our athletics team, who were placed fourth at the Prestige Meeting held at St Stithians last week. This meant that the season ended on a successful note. Well done to all those girls. We also had all our girls participating in Sports Day last Saturday. The spirit was amazing and, although it was very hot, the standard was very high. Well done to all the girls, particularly Oliver House - who won overall. This week, we commenced with swimming and we will participate in galas for three weeks. Some of the girls seem to be battling with some skin irritation from the pool water – we would suggest that they apply some Aqueous cream before and after swimming to keep their skin moist and to prevent that irritation from occurring. The pool is tested regularly and is of the recommended pH levels for safe swimming. We wish our Grade 1, 2 and 3 swimmers well at the APPS gala next Wednesday and look forward to the Gr 0 swimming demonstration and JP gala later next week. See the School Communicator under the Resources tab for sports notifications. Liz Ashmore (Director of Sport) [email protected]

REMINDER: SUNSET CAROLS: MVUKUZANE PAVILION AUCTION

The Foundation’s annual Sunset Carols is being held on Saturday, 28 November 2015 on the Mvukuzane Field at St Peter’s Prep School. Last year, a corporate hired out the Pavilion for some of their clients, friends and family. The pavilion will be decorated and set with a Christmas theme and will accommodate in the region of 30 to 50 people and provides a wonderful environment in which to relax and enjoy a magnificent view of the stage. We would, again, like to make this facility available, so we have decided to auction off the pavilion to the highest bidder. Should you be interested in bidding, please submit your bid via e-mail to [email protected]. Bids will cover the cost of the pavilion only i.e. you will still be required to add in the cost of tickets as well as any catering that you may wish to include on the night. All bids will be treated as confidential (a reserve will apply). All funds raised, will be allocated to the Isematholeni Intern Programme.
