Lowcountry Local Firsts Sustainable Agriculture Initiative is growing andsupporting the local food systems by connecting local farms, apprentices, and artisans to businesses and individuals who hunger for farm fresh food

and goods. Through a variety of education, outreach and apprentice pro-grams, were working to get good food to good people and ensure that ouragrarian culture continues to be an integral part of the Lowcountryeconomy and way of life.

The first annual Eat Local Month will be a celebration ofthe bounty of local food available in the Lowcountry andwill take place throughout the month of April 2012.

Eat Local Month will provide fun and educationalopportunities for our community to actively engagein eating what is ripe, delicious and in season. Thecommunity will be able to directly connect with thefarmers, restaurants, businesses and organizations thatmake the Lowcountry unique.

The funds raised from Eat Local Month go directlytoward our work in Sustainable Agriculture. LLF isproud to have put 40 apprentices through our Growing
