    EPileystem(EP)isbasedonadesignmethodfor

    groundstructures.Bycontrollingsettlementusingelastic

    elementsontopofconcreteorsteelpiles,thenumberof

    pilesrequiredcanbereducedsignificantly.EPutilizesthe

    carryingcapacityofthesoilcombinedwithpilesupports.

    EPdesignusesfullsoil-structureinteractionandallows

    optimizationofthecarryingcapacitysafely.

    EPprovidesthemostcost-efficientsolutionfor5-8storeybuildings.

    Bycontrollingsettlement,therequirednumberofpiles

    canbereducedbyupto50%,dependingonground

    conditionsandthelayoutofthebuilding.

    EPcanalsobeusedwhendesigningstructuresona

    combinationofnewandexistingfoundationsforrebuilding

    projects.hisisamethodthatwillbeevenmorecommon

    inthefuturewithincreasingrebuildinginurbanareas.

    EPdesignrequiresadvanced3DFEManalysis.

    EP is recommended for use when:

    - hereisnormalexcavationforabasement,2-3mdepth- Designingnewstructuresincombinationwithold

    foundations

    - hesoilisslightlyover-consolidatedintherangeof3-10m

    - hetotalpilelengthrequiredisbetween12-35m

    - herearestablegroundwaterconditions.However,

    thedesigntakesminorfluctuationsintoaccount
