An electricalcontractor...

Working safely...Quality workmanship...

RoSPA Gold Awards for the past five years and an accident record that’s 40% below the construction industry average both demonstrate our commitment to health & safety.

Of course we take all the measures you’d expect to see as standard like providing full sets of PPE to staff, and conducting health & safety inductions and tool box talks. But working with electricity brings a unique set of additional dangers not faced by most other trades so we’ve taken extra steps like introducing our own safe isolation procedure. Protecting our staff and everyone else on site really is a priority. With Clarkson Evans, safety is more than just standard.

Putting safety first…

Working safely...Quality workmanship...

By getting it right first time, we can save you lots of hassle. Well trained staff who follow clear methods and take pride in their job – all these add up to quality workmanship.

Our technical manual includes all of our standard procedures, so our teams can access them whenever they need to, and customers can expect a consistent level of quality across all our regions.

Through regular quality audits we keep a close eye on things. And our project teams work hard to make sure our electricians have up-to-date drawings and accurate material schedules so they arrive on site well-briefed and ready to get started.

Choose Clarkson Evans for quality you can rely on.

Putting the site manager f rst...A motivated workforce...

We know we need to exceed customers’ expectations so our secret is to organise our electricians into small self-managing teams headed up by a team leader who deals directly with the site manager. Our team leaders don’t just wait to be instructed; they do their best to understand, anticipate and accommodate the site manager’s needs.

This provides all the benefits and flexibility of dealing with a small company, along with the reassurance that they can call on the resources of a big company when needed.

Our expectations of our team leaders are made clear from the outset so they always turn up when they say they will and get the job done with the minimum of fuss.

Clarkson Evans – for customer service that’s second to none.

We turn up when we say we will...

Putting the site manager f rst...A motivated workforce...

Happy staff equals happy customers. That’s why we do our best to make sure our workforce starts the day with a smile by providing free breakfasts each morning

So that they don’t get too comfortable in the canteen we link the pay of all our electricians and apprentices to what they actually achieve on site, giving everyone the motivation they need for a hard day’s work.

Day-to-day decisions are devolved to the staff on site allowing everyone to see the big picture and encouraging a positive can-do attitude.

And then there are the little things that make a big difference: the social events, the family firm atmosphere, the children’s Christmas party, the annual awards, the apprentice presentation evenings and regular bonuses for achievement and loyalty.

At Clarkson Evans our people are what set us apart.

Experience and stability...Offering specialist services...

Clarkson Evans is still run by Steve Evans who founded the company in 1981, and Steve Clarkson who joined in 1986. With an ambitious approach and strong emphasis on investing to improve efficiency, they’ve steered a steady course through the industry’s many ups and downs. In the early years ‘the two Steves’ worked on the tools, as did our commercial director, production director and our business development manager. In fact, almost everyone you see wearing a shirt and tie at Clarkson Evans has site experience. Each year we wire about 1 in 20 of all the new homes built throughout the whole of the UK. That’s getting on for 100,000 of them over the years.

We stick to what we know best and that’s wiring new homes.

Nearly 30 years in the business...

A one-stop shop...

Experience and stability...Offering specialist services...

Installing basic wiring systems into new homes is the bedrock of our business but we also offer a full range of related services.

Our dedicated specialist engineers install heat recovery systems, intruder alarms, TV aerial and satellite systems, CCTV, fire alarms and door entry systems, so we can provide a complete ‘one-stop shop’ to the new housing developer.

It doesn’t stop there. We’re always looking for ways to build on the range of services we can provide and at Hanham Hall near Bristol we’re currently working in close partnership with Barratt Homes on the UK’s first development by a major housebuilder to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6.

If you’re planning something out of the ordinary, contact us for advice.

Investing in training...24 hour back-up and support...

At our award-winning training centre, our staff receive some of the best training the industry has to offer. Since 1998 we’ve been training our own apprentices entirely in house – not through colleges – and we’ve been reaping the benefits this brings.

Our apprentices quickly gain the skills needed specifically for wiring new build homes. What’s more, our reputation for excellent training allows us to select very talented young people from a large number of applicants.

Government Ofsted inspectors have highlighted our outstanding apprenticeship achievement rate – an impressive 94% of trainees successfully complete their qualifications, well above the national average.

By nurturing young talent we’re never short of well-trained staff.

Prevention is always better than cure and that’s why every plot is fully tested and certified by the team leader responsible, and supervisors visit to spot-check quality and re-test a selection of plots.

On the rare occasion that things don’t go according to plan, we treat the problem as an opportunity to show our customers just how good we really are. For any out-of-hours emergencies you can rest assured that our office phone will be answered in person at any time of day or night. With a duty manager and two engineers always on call we’re confident that whatever your problem, we’ve got it covered.

The support customers need, whenever they need it.

We’re always open for business...

Technical support and advice... Delivering on our promises...

Our staff include some of the most highly-qualified and knowledgeable people in the industry, and our customers benefit from their advice.

Our head of electrical training knows ‘the regs’ like the back of his hand. He chairs a Sector Skills Council group to advise on new qualifications and on behalf of City & Guilds, he regularly checks the quality of other colleges’ electrical training.

Our technical and commercial directors both have a wealth of experience and good contacts within the NICEIC and the NHBC. If you have a query about a technical issue on site or would like to discuss a new product or specification, they can offer unbiased help and advice, even when your query relates to a site that we’re not working on.

Help from our experts is just a phone call away.

A wealth of experience...

The resources to make it happen...

Technical support and advice... Delivering on our promises...

With 320 employees, more than 130 vehicles, our own distribution centre and an extensive branch network, we have the power to deliver on our promises.

90% of our site-based staff completed apprenticeships in-house and we rarely use subcontractors. With a responsive workforce under our direct control we can always supply additional labour to boost production when needed on fast moving sites. What’s more, with all company vehicles serviced and maintained in our own vehicle workshop, we operate our fleet at the very peak of efficiency.

With an extensive branch network serving nearly 220 developments throughout the midlands, much of central, south and south west England and all of south Wales, we always have someone in your area.

We’re big enough to cope and small enough to care.
