GOSPEL LEARNING
The Gospel reading today comes from St. Luke. We will learn that our actions and choices have consequences. The parable that Jesus tells emphasizes the importance of taking his invitation to eternal life seriously.
GOSPEL READING: LUKE 13: 22-30
“The Narrow Door”Source: New Testament Pinoy Version Catholic Edition
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
The Gospel of the Lord.
LIVING THE GOSPEL
1. SITUATION
Was there a time when you were not responsible with your actions and choices (e.g. being late, lazy, etc.)? What happened? What were the consequences of these choices and actions?
LIVING THE GOSPEL
2. GOSPEL THEME
In the Gospel, Jesus loves us and invites us to share eternal life with God in heaven. But we cannot take his invitation for granted and do whatever we want. When we do and say things to grow closer to God, we are accepting Jesus’ invitation.
LIVING THE GOSPEL
3. GOSPEL CHALLENGE
What is something that we can do or say to be closer to God and accept Jesus’ invitation?
TRIVIA
The Lord saving his people is stated hundreds of time in the Old Testament books alone! The Lord made his salvation known and manifested through human means. On the other hand, in the New Testament salvation is associated with Jesus’ mighty deeds (e.g. healings, forgiving sins, raising the dead, etc.)
CLOSING PRAYER
Dear Jesus,
Please help me especially at times when it will not be easy to follow the rules. Accompany me as I get through that narrow door by making good choices and actions. I hope that someday I will get into Your house/heaven where there will be an awesome party.
In your name I pray.
Amen.
Our Father, Hail, Mary, Glory Be...
